Ben Stein 'expelled' from his job with The New York Times

Ben Stein has been fired from his job with The New York Times. Karma? (wink:wink)

Stein was criticized by many in atheistic circles, so to speak, after he misled prominent atheists like Richard Dawkins and PZ Myers to get them to participate in the making of his movie, Expelled. He also came under fire after PZ was not allowed to attend a showing of the movie for which he had tickets. So, karma or not, there are likely to be many who will shed no tears for Stein. Some may even rejoice.

But, does it get the red out?

Back when Joan Rivers' husband, Edgar, committed suicide in 1987, a writer (using the pseudonym "Bert Hacker") produced an article for Conde Nast publications stating that Rivers had said that he "had turned maniacal and was driving her crazy." This later turned out to be pure fabrication and Rivers sued Conde Nast for $50 million dollars.

Although he denies it, Ben Stein sometimes writes under the name Bert Hacker and his name was on the masthead of the paper in which the article appears.

I haven't had the slightest trust in Ben Stein for over 20 years. That's why I use Visine.

Heh... Well, we all know that honesty is not his forte. These commercials seem right up his alley. ;)

Come to think of it, with all the "liers for Jesus" in religious circles, it seems he fits right in. It isn't the dishonesty that discredits him - it's the getting caught. ;)

"many who will shed no tears for Stein. Some may even rejoice." - tears of schadenfreude!

Seems like he's a discredit to the religious community, given his unethical behavior.
