Soooo, I'm making all this up? Do I really need to reference you to the articles that verify the existence of all this technology or can you do that yourself? And once you see that it does exist, I pose the same question to you that I asked of Anne: do you think they are making this stuff to watch it sparkle in the sun, or because they plan on using it?
Actually it won't even be a violent process of supression and conquer, like it has been in the past. I read an article yesterday in which experimentors were able to make a mouse prefer water over sugary drinks (of course they normally prefer the sugary drink) simply by directing a microwave beam to stimulate dopamine production in the mouse's brain when it drank the water. The mouse changed it's behavior without having any idea that it was being manipulated. That will be what they do to us soon. We do something they don't like - no need to lock us up or kill us, they'll just change our minds for us. Problem solved. In another article from several years ago, an MRI was tweaked to direct a magnetic signal at a human motorcortex and force the person to move without any intention of doing so. Another one, from this year, has successfully forced people to lie or to tell the truth, again with magnetic resonance. Older experiments have been successful at creating or suppressing hunger, thirst, the desire to move, sleepiness, wakefulness. You could literally be forced into a coma, or to sleep, right now with technology that already exists...via satellite. DARPA recently figured out how to stop internal bleeding (or cause it) with sonic resonance. For years, they have been developing weaponized drug delivery, and now the drugs are getting precise enough to cause or inhibit specific behaviors, moods and thoughts, right down to individual words, colors, smells, tastes, etc.
Still not worried? Think they're making all those gadgets so they can just look at how shiny they are or because they intend to use them?
Yeah, and what have we done with technology throughout history? We've used it to destroy or opress people who don't have it. Worst case scenerio last century - atom bomb; millions dead, and we used it. Worst case scenerio this century - biological warfare, military drones and grey goo; everybody dead, and we've already been using drones and biological warfare pretty successfully. Care to take a chance with the grey goo once we create it? There's no running and hiding from that shit - you're just dead. It can be put in the air, put in the soil, put in the oceans, and you have to eat and drink and breath. Game over. Submit or be destroyed.
I'm not very worried though it is unnerving. The potential for us to end life as we know it has increased with technology for sure. But geeks can get your data, good or bad intentions, government or not, Carrier IQ or not. The weapons have gotten more dangerous and we know more about what spies are doing, but otherwise hasn't this stuff been happening all through history?
We are entering very dangerous times indeed. This century is promising to be even more tumultuous than the last, and by a lot.
