And if you were wondering, yes I am an atheist. I do not believe in the supernatural, and have not for a while now. I have finally, fully embraced reality in light of recent events. I believe in scientific proof, it is my job, and I am good at what I do. I believe in humanity and our ability to reason. We are part of, and created by the Universe, and our purpose in life is to make it better for everyone. The meaning of life is that there is no meaning, be good and help those around you to be better. That is all that we can hope and aspire to.
If you do believe in God (gods), great, prove it by doing something to physically help your fellow humans. The old divisions are illusions; protect and inspire your fellow beings to be better. This is one planet of many, and we have the task of making every person aspire to their best, and improve this lonely place that we call home.
Do not be too off-put by my post, and do not pray for me. I have come to my current philosophy through many years of thought and reflection, drawing on multiple world sources and life experiences for inspiration.
Go and help that homeless guy that you pass everyday, volunteer with a group that helps people, do your best to improve things here and now. Teach to children, the most honest among us.
In my humble opinion, only we can help ourselves. Explore, learn, live; but most of all live.
Nate
ps pass this on to everyone you know, only we can change the world into what it should be, Gandhi (for all his human failings) said something like this, and overall, was a good guy.
