It's been hard times for the Catholic church here in Quebec since the Quiet Revolution back in the 1960s.  So much so that the church has really stepped up the marketing angle in the last decade to try and woo people back into church - or at least woo the money out of them.

The image to the left is their latest for 2012. It's pretty genius if you think about it - symbolic and stuff. Here's what the diocese says it means:

The advertising concept illustrates in a strong but subtle way the mission of the Church in Montreal. The imprint left over time by a cross on vintage wallpaper clearly states that the Church remains present in this city. The Church is neither from the past nor a thing of the past, but remains present today in the everyday lives of the inhabitants of our city.

Really? I don't think so.
