You are right on target with where I view the god virus. The criteria I use is the parasitic nature of the meme. religious meme invariably are parasitic in that they tend, in one way or another, to put the god virus' interest ahead of the individual's. I explain this in detail in my book. Take a look and let me know what you think. You can get an autographed copy from my website www.thegodvirus.net. With your knowledge of memetics, I am sure you will find it advances the debate another step.

Darrel, I'd like to ask your views on memetics. Your suppositions seem closed in conjunction with the tenets of the theory. A meme has been often defined as a mind virus, different from raw data in that it's contagious.
