That's good advice from Krista. Also, prepare some questions to ask the interviewer about the job and the company and listen carefully to the answers. DON'T ask about pay or benefits until they offer you a job. As JFK once said, "Ask not what the company can do for you. Ask what you can do for the company."

Go in looking put together, not necessarily interview clothes but not sloppy, ask for someone who would know about the hiring process, don't just talk to the person at the register. Get the application and fill it out very neatly and completely, take it back as soon as possible and ask who to call about possible interviews. You DO have to call them yourself, even if they say they will call you. The people who call and show serious interest are the ones that get the job. Before you interview have prepared answers to typical interview questions. I'm sure you can find examples if you search the subject. Smile, look people in the eye, stand up straight, dress better than you would have to in the job you want. At the end of the interview say thanks for your time and I really hope to hear from you.
Don't be too disappointed if you don't get hired. It's really hard to get a job these days and doesn't necessarily reflect on you.
