I Grumble: I wish I had a nickel for every time a Christian told me that my take on the existence of God isn’t really atheism; it’s agnosticism. No, those nickels wouldn’t make me rich, but they would add up to a nice meal at a decent restaurant, and with enough change to leave a damned good tip.

An interesting semantic point: "agnoticism" means "lack of knowledge". It's cognate with "ignorant". The agnostic declares "I don't know whether there's a god."

Yet consider the response of the religious when challenged to prove the existence of god: they declare that it's a matter of faith. Somebody who doesn't accept their religion is called an unbeliever or an infidel, not a denier. In other words, the religious believer is self-admittedly agnostic: he doesn't know that there's a god, but he believes that there is a god.
