Nilknarf Daily Haiku
Yes, the sleep will come;
but not when you expect it...
not when you need it.
Another day... in which I didn't make anything interesting happen.
The evening was different though... I got to spend it with Lana.
Yeah, I'm pretty much smitten.
Callie has been acting strangely lately... won't jump on my lap for petting, but she still sleeps with me, and wants her scritches. She will yowl if I'm not laying on my back when she jumps on the bed... kinda like, "Assume the position!"
Then she will lay on my chest and I will pet her head and itch her ears for her, and she will shake her head, flinging cat-snot everywhere.
She normally does about the same thing several times a day while I'm sitting in the recliner working on the computer... and I can't get her to the last coupla days. She'll sit there at my feet, I'll give her the signal, patting my chest... and she just looks confused.
Well, of course I know that the natural state of cats is... confused.
And I'm baffled... the normal state of humanity... but they don't talk about it much.
I watched a coupla shows on TV with Lana... The Big Bang and something about your mother... both pretty funny.
Worth sitting through the commercials for?
Luckily, I remembered to do what is supposed to be done during commercials... and I'll leave that to your imagination, heh.
But Lana has to get to sleep pretty early, so I left at 20:00. Poor lady has to get up at 05:00....
And she has to work ten hours tomorrow, so I will leave her alone... ten-hour days take all of your energy, and I don't want to become a pest.
Something that pisses me off:
"Only a quarter of all women who had a child over the past year were living below the poverty level.".
This is from a US census bureau report.
Just a casual mention that a quarter of our citizens are now being born to impoverished parents.
What a load of bullshit.
Well, what can we do about it, this increasing poverty in the richest country in the world?
Well, hell, it's so simple... lower the poverty level until that figure is at an acceptable five percent.
And that's probably what the fucking asshole bureaucrats will do... if they even see the report.
And if they think that the voters will ever really see the figures.
Goddamn it, those are third world numbers.
Happening in my country.
Friends don't let friends vote Republican.
