It seems Jackson Browne is a liberal and is taking this very seriously. He is suing McCain and the RNC for it's use of his song, Running on Empty, without permission in a campaign ad.
The lawsuit claims the song's use was an infringement of his copyright and will lead people to conclude he endorses McCain. The suit says Browne is a lifelong liberal who is as well-known for his music as for being "an advocate for social and environmental justice."
Seems they have used other songs without permission also, such as John Cougar Mellencamp and Abba songs.

I like this comment: Robert Bennett, chairman of the Ohio party, said the ad was pulled when Browne objected. He called the lawsuit a "big to-do about nothing."

A "big to-do about nothing?" Browne doesn't want to be associated with McCain or the Republican Party, THAT'S a "big to-do" if you ask me.
