These are two things that will never change throughout my life.
There are a couple of rationale behind it.
1) When I get old and have dementia and there is the possibility that no one can speak for me, this will be kind of a "statement" for others to abide by. Like: "Don't feed me anything that comes from an animal" and "Don't send me to church".
I drive around senior citizens and disabled persons (it's my job...and I absolutely love it) and pick up quite a few from AFC homes in which most of the clients aren't always "all there". They talk about going to church (maybe they want that), but if I were in that position I'd not like a caretaker to send me to church because they had no idea I was an atheist. Similarly, being vegan.
2) If Christians have no qualms about getting a cross or "Jesus Saves" or other such nonsense I should feel equally empowered to express my non-belief.
