Um... Don't you guys have a rule about not lying?

Today I saw some lawn signs down at the local megachurch that said "Proposition 8 = Free Speech". As you should know if you're a Californian, Prop 8 seeks to make same-sex marriage illegal in California.

I'm absolutely enraged. How the fuck do these people say that they follow a religion whose 9th commandment is to not lie (or bear false witness against one's neighbor) and get away with proudly posting such blatant lies in public? It's absurd. It's obscene. Proposition 8 has nothing to do with free speech, because even hate speech is protected speech. Churches will still be able to preach hate and choose not to celebrate or recognize same-sex marriages. I don't mind that hate speech is protected speech, because free speech law that doesn't protect what people don't want to hear is meaningless, and because we need a way to tell who the stupid people are. I really don't mind that churches get to choose which marriage ceremonies they will hold because that's their choice. What I take issue with is the fact that these people want to make same-sex marriage and that they want to subject people of ALL religious beliefs to their will.

It makes me sick. It's times like these when I understand why some people believe in hell.

Think about it, lying for these people is easy. The "God" in whom the faith is placed is also a liar himself. God did not only lied to the Adam and Eve characters of the "Bible" when he supposedly told them if they eat the so called fruit they will surly die and they did eat but did not die, he also lied in many ways to those believers; for example, when he tell them that they will receive whatever they prayed for. Is that a true statement? To answer this question we will have to ask the innocent dead children of the faith healing Christian's groups. These crazy Christan's parents have so much faith ,I should say blind faith, in this God he chose never to answer their desperate call of prayers to the aid of sick children.
It is easy for these Christians to lie because they inherited it from their so called creator, "God".

They know it has nothing to do with free speech. Its propaganda, there lying for Jesus (or in this case religious homophobia). The think about Christens is they have there get out of hell free card, they think that there "sins" will be forgiven.

I can't believe the MILLIONS that both sides have spent on this measure. Imagine if that money were spent on counseling, domestic abuse prevention, drug abuse prevention, financial help, or any of the REAL threats to the institution of marriage.
