Nilknarf Daily Haiku
the moon... ah, the moon...
emphasizes our closeness;
and stars, the distance.

A nice day, especially the evening.

The morning, not so much, I'm afraid.

Once again, I had to get up early to get to an appointment... this time with the pacemaker lady at the cardiology office.

First thing... I was gently chewed out for not immediately calling when Thor struck in June. That's not a mistake I'll make again, heh.

She wants to talk to the cardiologist that put it in to see about adjusting it, because I was not truly throwing PVCs, but it was mis-reading a T-wave. I know that some of you, at least, will understand that.

So I might have to go back to the EP Lab and get something done... an expense that I don't really need... especially since the pacer will have to be replaced soon anyway.

And I have not had another malfunction since then, so my feeling is leave it alone... now I need to convince the doc of that.

Then I went over to see my other buddy Duane in the hospital... he's doing about the same, dammit. And he's been running a temp, probably from the leg fracture is what everyone's' best guess is... although there are certain areas in the brain that do temperature control, and if that's damaged, I have no idea what happens... I just hope that it's his leg.

I came home and worked around the house a little, then tried to take a nap, and I guess that I did sleep a little, 'cause I really didn't want to get up when the alarm went off at 18:30.

Lana and I finally got to go dancing... and she dances almost exactly like Karen. Maybe all girls do, but Karen and Lana are the only ones that I've danced with lately.

We met my other friend Duane, the one I went fishing with on Thursday, and his wife Bonnie. Jody Scott was playing with his band, and I haven't seen him playing for 2+ years, and I had forgotten how good he is. His band now has a fiddler girl and a guy that plays steel guitar very well, and a bass and a drummer, of course.

The bass guy looked completely stoned... come to think of it, all bassists look like they're stoned. I don't know if they actually are stoned or they just all look like that... I'm thinking the former, though.

We stayed through two sets and danced five or six times and really enjoyed ourselves.

Lana usually goes to bed by 21:00 - 22:00, and you know my sleeping schedule, if it can be called that... but I think that I was the worn-out one, at least I was the first one who said, "Are you ready to go yet?" She probably could have danced all night.

Her Aunt died in Arkansas, so I won't be seeing much of her next week, so I might change tomorrows' plans and see if she wants to do something with me...

And it's late, and I must try to sleep.

(Once again, a spelling correction {and no mind right now] make the haiku new, heh.)
