Nilknarf Daily Haiku

staring at the stars
is scary for a thinker;
we are so damned small...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A better day than yesterday, anyway.

I got up at 08:00, I went to bed relatively early last night.

I had a coupla chores to do, then I went to the hospital.

I wasn't able to see Sandy, but I talked to Duane's son and daughter-in-law for a while, along with my former co-worker Missy.

His CT looked better, and that is a very good sign. I was thinking that there is no good reason why he should not completely recover, and that was later confirmed by the neurosurgeon.

He'll still be a right-wing reactionary, though, I'll bet.

When I got home, I had a check in my mailbox that I needed to deposit, and my bank is right near a coffee-house run by one of my old friends, so I stopped by there.

Once again, she wasn't there, but it's a cool place and has a lot faster connection than I have at home, and really good coffee, so I think that I will be spending more time there in the future.

And then... the debates.

At this point, McCain should just quit, Obama is so far ahead... 70/30 is one of the ratings I heard.

It may be stupid of me (and I've been known to do that) but I really believe in Obama. I think that he is the genuine article... the ONE that we've been waiting for.

I could be really wrong, of course, and I don't expect everything to be roses, or even Camelot.

I sincerely believe that we will be a whole lot better off without the Republicans in power, though.

And when the Democrats get in? Of course they will fuck up. Bur in the end we will, hopefully, have a balanced budget... and I rather doubt that Michelle will ever let Barry get as out of control sexually as Hillary let Bill get.

For one thing, that's probably impossible... not that that really means anything to a thinking person.

I have an appointment with my dentist tomorrow at 08:00, then I'll go up to the hospital again after I have some breakfast at the coffee shop.

(I had a misspelled word in the haiku and corrected it today, so it counts as a new one, right?)
