I'm angry and frustrated. I went to an Atheist/Humanist/Secularist convention at Oxford last weekend. Nice people but they were very apologetic over their position. One of the student groups had done a poster for an event which had a drawing of a person dropping the symbols of faith (cross etc) into a bin and they were fined by the college for being 'offensive'. They removed the bin from the poster. I know that I am a cantankerous old git but I would have changed the bin into a bonfire just to spite. What happened to freedom of expression?

I also picked up the New Humanist magazine where they had an article about the arguments from 'new believers' that counter Dawkins's 'God Delusion'. There was nothing new about the arguments and the magazine shouldn't have given them so much respect.

Is it just me or are we, as a nation, buying into this multi-faith, tolerate and respect all bullshit? Where is the toleration/respect in the bible? Where is the toleration/respect in the koran?

I've seen a lot of pledges recently. This is mine. 2010 is a year of change. I am going to do everything I can to stir things up and get things moving. I've had enough.

I can't begin to explain my exasperation about the very same thing.

Where is the strength of character?

Ahhh, Spring Time, and the discontent of the New Atheists is starting to warm up again! Can't wait for the Global Atheist Convention this month, btw.
