1936 MG TA

I bought a 1936 MG TA earlier this summer and began restoring it. It needs a lot of work. Almost all of the body needs to be re-fabricated. I ordered most of the wood for the body frame and just began working on the sheet-metal. This will take some time to finish.

Comment by Chris G on May 20, 2011 at 5:02pm: I've been holding off on the restoration lately because of the cold and rain. I have a dehumidifier in the garage to help prevent rust. I bought some nuts and seals for the rear axles and need to get some stainless steel screws for the wood frame.

Comment by Vangelis Stamatopoulos on January 28, 2011 at 3:59am: Yes, I've seen the Tesla electric cars. They're are producing electric cars that have decent performance. When I looked at them I thought they may be based on the Lotus frame/chassis but I wasn't sure. Thanks for the info.

I know the series 2 have a Japanese engine but what the Brits have done to it is amazing. Great handling cars! The Brits are great with their engineering.

As for your restoration, I wish you well, it looks like a big job. A friend of mine is restoring a Ford Mustang (67 I think). He loves the big American cars with the big V8 donks. He's been working on it for over a year now but it's starting to come together now.
