I had a wonderful observation at Storybook Island. It's a place where all the nursery rhymes and children's stories stand as statues and slides and cool playground toys are sure to keep the young ones busy. Humpty Dumpty and the three little pigs and all the other fairy tales fill the park. I was most amused when we got to Noah's Arc. First off, yes, it was in the middle of all the other fairy tales! That may be the most amusing thing to many. But, for me, it was the fact that they had a seal on the arc. Why would Noah need to put sea creatures on a boat to escape the flood? I know, it's all for kids. But it still amused me.

Right on, Jason. In my mind, that's how all the bible stories came to be. A much smaller and obscure story turns into divine intervention with just a generation or two. It reminds me of that game we used to play in elementary school, where one person whispers something to someone, and they pass it on through the whole class. I don't ever remember it coming out right. Noah's Arc amuses the hell out of me, though. The idea of Noah rounding up cats and goats makes me laugh. I used to make a joke about there actually being Unicorns on the Arc. But, as luck would have it, the male unicorn was gay.

Slightly off-topic, but recently I saw a history channel program that gave a smidgen of credance to noah's ark. It theorized that tribsmen/early farmers living on the coast of the Black Sea at the end of the last ice age might have witnessed a huge flood caused by the erosion of a land mass between the rising waters fed by glacial melt filling the Med break through and effectivly enlarging the Black sea by as much as 20 times. Throw in a traveling trader who sees what is imminent and packs his wife, kids and animals on a raft and add 8000 years of being told around campfires and viola you have "Noah's Ark"

I think Noah put a seal on the ark for the halibut.
