I Want To Die, Now I'm Condemned To HELL

HELL HAS A VERY DARK PLACE FOR

MURDERS AND SUICIDERS

Please Doctor, Let Me DIE !

It's hard for some, but not for rational people to see Theists religions attempting to control every aspect of an individuals existence, including their rational choice to die.

But, this is exactly what has happened in most parts of the World. There are laws prohibiting anyone to assist anyone else with the final dignity of killing themselves.

I speak here, and this should be quite clear, of adults for cause, taking their own miserable lives and going gently into that dark night, death.

I think what if anything continues after death, isn't even on the rationalist table. How could one devise any experiment to determine if consciousness can and does exist without the little biological computer, our brains? That's not up for discussion.

What is, the cruel nature of faith based religions frightening and condemning anyone who takes their own life to eternal damnation.

Why should a person with a terminal illness or a life situation, so horrific they have not the resources to see it through, be told they must do so, or be damned in hell?

It's difficult to understand why a healthy person would decide in a moment of emotional desolation, to end their life. We can however, understand mental illness and chronic depression. Indeed bipolar persons often are some of the most creative, and we take sadness in losing their creative potential to their own suicides. Could we say God, now condemns them for squandering permaturely a life of genius given?

If you're a Christian or a Moslem the answer is clear and unyielding. Take your own life, murder your self, destroy God's gift of life, and you will burn in hell.

I often think how cruel we can be in denying the terminally ill who suffer and would gladly enter a " good night", lingering agony so we can save their eternal souls.

Religion again shows its ugly face of hypocrisy and cruelity.

Comment by unholyroller on February 22, 2010 at 9:01pm: Everybody, no matter how young or old, should have an Advanced Directive filled out and stamped by a notery public, and/or attorney. I've been an RN for a few years now and I can tell you, just doing this one thing, and discussing your wishes with family and friends is a wise thing to do. We have no control over when we come into this life....we by god should have some say in how we exit.

These are very important. Although, only a minority will ever need this, its like insurance, just in case the grim reaper strikes you a glancing blow.
