I'm just going to use this space to chronicle episodes with my brain, TLE and other brain damage unspecified. Feel free to read and comment but it's just a place where I can keep a record of events.

Sept 14, 2009

I had an episode of sleep paralysis this morning. It was'nt a terribly bad one. I was in one of those old fashioned diving suits. The helmet began filling with water. I became lucid at that point but could'nt wake up. I was chanting something like "be calm, open your eyes, be calm, wake up" I was being deprived of oxygen in the dream but not in reality with this one.
It really scared me because about 3 years ago...it was the week before The island of merapi had the big quake/eruption whenever that was...I had about a week of sleep paralysis incidents but with those, I could not only not open my eyes but I could not breathe (for real) as well. I realize just about everyone has sleep paralysis events, but with me they happen several times in one night and it gets to a point I am too scared to sleep which of course makes my brain get even whackier with the hallucinations and thought patterns.
The past few weeks have been the startling awake just as I go to sleep over and over..happens 20 to 30 times a night before I finally doze off.

Current hallucination patterns are:
visual : wraiths and pillars of blue smoke (twice) flattening stairs (several)
auditory : canned radio announcer
olfactory : none
Tatse : burning rubber
Touch : bugs crawling on legs

Synesthesia has been about average.

Found an interesting article that relates to me ( if you knew my life ). It's about brain damage being caused by Torture/Interrogation.
