I'm writing something and I have to state what religion says about WHY were here. How does God answer that? Why am I here?
So far I've put down: 1 to worship god. 2 to exert your free will and be judged by it.
It's been so long, I can't remember what the religious purpose of life is. But I do remember all those stupid "Got Purpose?" signs everywhere. Can someone enlighten me.

I like what you had to say Joan.

Comment by Tom Sarbeck on December 22, 2012 at 2:21pm Hey, Joan, I thought bees pick up pollen from male plants (or the male parts of some plants) and deliver it to female plants (or the female female parts of those intersex plants). Am I in need of further education?
There's no instruction manual but there are some powerful instructions: grow up, make babies, raise them, and leave.
Comment by Glen Rosenberg on December 22, 2012 at 10:02am Truth falls anywhere. It is not aesthetic unlike the designed lie; it is like Denoo says, dont deny. And for the love of a nonexistent god how it is my destiny to inhale nectar of young skunk on midsummer's zephyr.
Comment by Joan Denoo on December 22, 2012 at 2:38am We are born, just like any squid or porcupine or skunk and we have no purpose other than to do what I and squid, porcupine and skunk do. There is no meaning, no design, no map, no instruction manual. Life just is and does and dies. A bee doesn't get up in the morning as ask, "What is god's will for me today?" It goes out and sticks its nose in every pretty flower it can find and flitters from blossom to blossom until gets so heavy with pollen it can hardly make it back to the hive, where it does whatever bees do with all that dust. It just is and does and dies. In the process it fulfills its destiny.

Loren states it perfectly.
Comment by Sameer on December 21, 2012 at 5:32am The religious purpose of life is to become a stupid slave.
Comment by Tom Sarbeck on December 19, 2012 at 5:40am I'm laughing, I remember well and ignore the purpose I heard and recited innumerable times long ago in Catholic schools.
The purpose of life is to know, love and serve God and be happy with him forever in Heaven.
