Are you an atheist homeschooler?
If you are, then I KNOW you have spent hours upon hours on the internet looking for guidance, like-minded people, curriculum, and support.

I've been thinking about this so much lately.  One reason it is so difficult being atheist parents is that, for most of us, we are first generation atheists.  We have no frame of reference, no common rituals, no role models, no easy fall-back positions, and VERY FEW homeschool materials to help us on our journey in raising ethical and educated children...

I am a teacher and I have no kids of my own.  I am sure you are having a difficult time finding support, my own experience in a public school as an atheist is difficult for me and very lonely.  I hope you can continue with your home schooling and find a way to succeed.  If I had a child I have no idea how terrified I would be since I know the present politics of the world is not kind to atheist.

My youngest is 18 now, and in college, but I homeschooled him for 10 years.  My Atheist Homeschooling neighbor brought us to her secular homeschool group.  We got lucky!  Some families there were very religious, some were Atheist.  But the common goal was homeschooling and that was it.

I never bought material that was religious.  So we cobbled together our homeschooling curriculum, and we were very eclectic in the way we homeschooled.

Our son turned out great if I do say so myself! :)

Signing Atheists

I was going to set up a group for Deaf Atheists, but figured I'd probably be alone in here if I did that so I figured I'd open it to anyone who knows sign language or even interested in learning it.
