I was interviewed on KLAY-AM (1180 kc) in Tacoma, Washington Sunday on the "Ask an Atheist" radio programme, to discuss my appointment to fill the remaining term of a vacant seat on my Village Board of Trustees.

Though I am an open atheist, of the five candidates standing for the position, the Chairman said I was the least divisive candidate (and this in the most religious state outside the Bible Belt). I was unanimously selected by the board to fill the remaining term of a long-serving member who resigned in September and passed away October 2. I appear about thirty minutes into a show after an interview with an apostate Muslim and her difficulties, on the subject of the dearth of open atheists in American government.

(Representative Pete Stark was supposed to appear, but another engagement came up and they filled in with more questions for me. I hope I didn't embarrass the atheist community too badly.)
