I'm sure that most of us in the nontheist community back president Barak Obama for a second term, especially at a time in our history when the opposition bends over backwards for those religous nuts, othewise known as christians. Can you imagine what our friends in the rational thinking spheres of Western Civilization would think, if this nation elected a fucking mormon? After Bush stole that first election, I often lose sleep thinking of such a national nightmare. It's bad enough the christian right wing holds so much power in the GOP, but if this country elects a kookoo mormon as commander in chief-- I'm packing up & moving to Mars!!!

Comment by Maia Ritchie on January 6, 2012 at 3:51pm I've never trusted any Republican, but Romney in particular worries me. Based on his political views, I think he'd just turn out to be a huge bully. >.>
I agree Tonya, that essentaially all god believers are kookoo, but there is something especially bat-shit crazy when you are basically in a cult. This goes for wacky jehovas witnesses, 7th day advantist, and those pentecostals, etc......

I lean to the right, but HATE Romney. He is fake through and through. I may vote Ron Paul, if I can.
......holy shit Batman, that Huntsman clown is a mormon too!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Comment by bobh on January 5, 2012 at 8:42pm Obama has disappointed many people and he is not too protective of civil liberties. He refused to fight for a public option in his healthcare legislation. he fires missiles all over Pakistan and Afghanistan and never mind the civilian casualities.
That said, Romney would be a disaster as president and its not related to his religion. he made his fortune destroying jobs, not creating employment. And he is happy with lots of housing foreclosures. Romney is just another inhumane capitalist and thats more troublesome than his religion.
Comment by Sentient Biped on January 5, 2012 at 1:11am Rest easy my friend - all of the conventional wisdom is out the window. The other hopefuls will gang up on Romney, and Santorum will emerge as the consensus candidate. Gingrich is kissing up to Santorum, but they won't do a 2-Catholic ticket, so Perry will be the vice presidential candidate instead. Or maybe they'll be creative and go for Jindal. You can go to sleep now. :-)
