Yep, that's right, I am against contact sports.  The basic question is, what is sports for? Is sports about teams, friendly competition, health or is it to beat the living crap out of the next person or team?  I prefer the healthier version of teams, and being healthy and friendly.  Ask yourself, what does a parent of a child who plays football in highschool do if they receive a concussion from a head blow while playing a game that intends to be hit hard?  Do they say oh what a tragedy I hope he gets better soon so he can get back on the field soon?  Yep, they do.

Maruli, sports do simulate the battle of resources yet what we have in professional sports is another example of greed and bullying.

The battle for resources is an expression of greed and bullying.  The alternative are the win-win situations of cooperation.

Luke, you make a good point and I should add that sports that are nonprofit tend to be less agressive and abusive.

I love sports. Besides being fun it's also god exercise. I played hockey for eight years. I just got into boxing with my friends and I love it.

Sports appear a human outlet for the animals' hierarchy instinct.  Animals living in groups fight out the hierarchy of physical strength, which then is a hierarchy of access to resources and procreation.
