Unlikely newpaper heading: God refuses to save abducted child

In Canada, this morning's leading national newspaper had an article on the return of a child that had been abducted (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/british-columbia/bc-bo...).

The return is dubbed miraculous. "For four days, Kienan Hebert’s parents prayed for a miracle and on Sunday, against grim odds, it appeared." Nonsense. For days, hundreds of people searched, working around the clock to find the missing boy. The abductor apparently decided to return the child after the family's plea, although he remains at large.

Most children abducted by strangers are killed. We should be grateful that this one was not. But attributing his return to an act of divine intervention is ridiculous.

Shall we call god an a**hole for not saving the other children who were abducted? "God refuses to save child, despite family's prayers."

Never saw that on the cover page of the newspaper.

Scale it up ... "Man escapes death on 9/11 thanks to a miracle.  Similar miracles not performed for 3,000 others - God unavailable for comment"
