I was going to set up a group for Deaf Atheists, but figured I'd probably be alone in here if I did that so I figured I'd open it to anyone who knows sign language or even interested in learning it.

Sexual Offers at Atheist Meetings

I'd like to thank anonymous (not sure if it's "the" anonymous) for bringing to my attention a blog post I've somehow managed to either miss completely, or forget that I read. (Hey, drugs aren't great for the memory -mmkay?) At any rate, the events in question here happened during a TAM event. Now, I know that the Nanny Ophelia & crowd are going to read this and think "Ha! Told you so!" but the story needs to be told. Anyway, this is a story involving a married couple in attendance at TAM; they go on to explain how the lady (the wife) was being the target of "an unusual number of unwanted sexual advances . . ."
Of course, the peculiar part of the story is that the unwanted sexual advances were coming from women to a married woman. And, oh, yeah, one other small detail: towards the husband too. Also by women.
I guess there are some issues with unwanted come-ons and cheap propositions happening at atheist conventions. So, ladies, knock it off - would ya?!

Steph S., one of the reasons, no doubt, is that most people when invited to have sex don't manage to escape the harrowing exchange of words, make a beeline to their hotel rooms and phone the police make a youtube video to tell the whole world they were just potentially invited on a date.
That's just my guess though.
