Atheism is less of an insult

Goncourt is supposed to have once said "If there is a God, atheism must seem to Him as less of an insult than religion". When you think of it, that makes perfect sense. If I were God, I would be pretty annoyed at all these religions and sects preaching in my name and pretending they know who I am and what I want. I think that people who simply admit they don't and can't know anything about me would seem a lot less offensive to me.

A mosque near Ground Zero

One of the news items these days is that a mosque will be built near Ground Zero, the site of the 9/11 attack in New York. I find it offensive that any religion would want a place of workshop at this location. However, I see no reason to exclude Muslim places of worship any more than others.
