Milk was a gay rights activist, a populist politician, and a great person. Even learning about him today, I can tell that he was a kind, generous man with a passion for inspiring his fellow humans. Why do religious people (or any people) consider good conclusions to bad situations to be miracles? Going about daily life on an average scale free of tragedy is not a rare, precious thing.
