Short answer: No.
Long answer:
It is one thing to question what an illness is, and how it manifests itself. It is quite another to challenge its existence in the face of evidence armed only with faith in the supernatural. However, this is what Channel 4 deem fit for public consumption, despite the consequences. Sufferers of depression have enough to deal with when it comes to being accepted by society as genuinely “suffering” from a condition without having that…
ContinueWhat interests me most about people who believe in an after life, is that most of them believe that the brain has some control over our functions. Tell them that a person can no longer talk, read, write, reason properly, or remember things due to a brain injury (i.e the damage to/death of part of the brain) and they will understand, and accept the science behind it. However, when the brain completely dies, and therefore so does the human being,…

Anonymous attacks a lot of things that they find wrong with the world: corporations, governments and other groups that they feel threaten the freedom of the people. On Friday, they attacked what may be their most controversial target yet – religion.

Dear ‘Liberal’ Catholic:
It’s time to quit the Roman Catholic Church.
It’s your moment of truth. Will it be reproductive freedom, or back to the Dark Ages? Do you choose women and their rights, or Bishops and their wrongs? Whose side are you on, anyway?
It is time to make known your dissent from the Catholic Church, in light of the U.S. Catholic Conference…

One of the greatest minds of our time, if not all time, and a universally praised physicist and cosmologist who has gone out of his way time and time again to not offend people of faith. He is oft-cited as mentioning God when talking about the big bang or origins of the universe. However, this is a fallacy, and a weak attempt by theists to hijack someone credible…

Banksy, from my current hometown of Bristol, has unveiled another controversial piece of work aptly named “Cardinal Sin”. Banksy called it a Christmas present, saying
“The statue? I guess you could call it a Christmas present. At this time of year it’s easy to forget the true meaning of Christianity – the lies, the corruption, the abuse.”

ContinueThe incident I’m referring to is reported by the BBC here. Let’s get things straight. I am against being forced to wear any form of clothing because a religious culture tells you to. These religious cultures are historically male dominated, male enforced and male created, hence why the arbitrary rules on covering up tend to …

Hmmmm.... not sure about that one.
Some people, of all labels, can be intolerant, but I see the rise of atheism as being challenging, robust, and critical of theism - NOT purely intolerant and rude like some claim.
Atheists are only intolerant of people who spell atheist as "athiest" ;)

update:
Since posting today's blog (about an hour ago) I've already had some feedback, that I'm "looking at it with Western values" or "America is bad too, it's responsible for a lot of world suffering" and so on... Firstly, looking at things with Western values is not my perspective. I'm critical of anyone who deserves it, whether it's Rick Perry in America and what affect that…
