This is a response to one of those emails that was floating around a while back. It was a poem, supposedly written by a 6th grade student, about liberals taking god out of everything U.S.

It's a little more aggressive than my usual approach but I was a little miffed. Since then my brother stopped sending me emails. Hm.

An acquaintance of mine recently brought her 12-year old daughter to see me and talk about the passing of the little girl's grandfather. The mother was unsure of what to say about death and the afterlife and wanted me to give her my perspective, which I thought odd due to my atheism.
