A few days ago I somehow ended up remembering an early chapter of the history of my life. I was just a little kid, about 7 or 8 years old, when my Catholic background required me to attend catechism lessons so I could receive my first Communion.

This is according to a telephone survey conducted in Cd. Juárez, Chihuahua, México.

A local newspaper interviewed 100 people over the phone and found out that 94 percent say they profess a specific religion; 5 percent believe in a higher power but aren't members of any religion; one person doesn't believe in anything.

I've just read a story in a one of the most important newspapers here in Juárez, about how some kids, all under the age of 12, will be "reenacting" the stations of the cross.



I think it is awful, stupid and cruel enough that adults represent this physically abusive story, but to have children doing it! that's brutal.

Hi, I've been a member for a couple of months now, but I had not felt enough confidence to write anything, until now.



I'm for México and I'm sorrounded by religious people, some moderate, some extremists but the majority of the people, including my whole family is catholic, just like I used to be (or still are if you consider the fact that they just don't let you go so easily, you know since you just can't erase baptism).
