I've always been fascinated by born-agains. They usually are sad people, who live a miserable life and hate themselves. They want to make a change to their life, but never have the motivation to do it themselves. Once they find out about this Christ character, that like a genie he can wave a magic wand and wipe away all the wrong things they did in their lives by just accepting him as there personal 'savior' they can feel guilt free. Murderer? Cheated on your husband? Drunk and beat your kids…

I was bored watching South Park, an epi where Cartman fake's Tourette's Syndrome so he can say any bad word he wants. The host of "To Catch a Predator" (Chris Hansen) is interviewing him. Kyle knows he is faking, so he lures pedophiles to the studio, where they see Chris Hansen and kill themselves. I heard this actually happened, so I went on youtube to see if it did.…

I read in an article:
http://www.examiner.com/x-12731-Phoenix-Womens-Health-Examiner~y2010m2d25-Criminal-Miscarriage--New-Legislation-in-Utah that Utah is trying to "outlaw" miscarriages. Never mind 1 out of 4 pregnant women suffer miscarriages, they will investigate all of them.
The dumbest thing about this law is it's vague wording. Being "knowingly…

I've heard a lot of people say that they think rape is worse than murder. I'm not sure where I stand on this, but I have a few opinions that sway me either way.
1. You can have a good reason to kill someone, like they are trying to kill you, although this may not count a murder, since it was out of self defense.
2. There is never a good reason to rape someone.
3. After a rape, the victim is never fully healed. Rape victims often have flashbacks, memories long after the…

Many people already probably know about this video by the "thoughtful atheist". I watched portions of his video because it was taken down before I saw it. It seems like he was saying that a friend of his and his wive's was getting drunk and being promiscuous. She went to a party and was followed to her apartment by a man who pushed her into her apartment and raped her. He said "Did she deserve it, no. Was she asking for it, yes." I think he was trying to say was she could have been smarter…

If you haven't seen the video "A message from Shawn." On DPR's channel; you should. That is if you are familiar with Venomfangx.
I watched that video and I found it really inspiring. I noticed that a lot of people aren't happy. Many Christians that loved Venomfangx aren't happy. And the others that just wanted to see blood aren't either. Both groups fail to see what is best for Shawn, and not for their entertainment. What he did takes courage, even if it is apologizing to a camera, it is…

Since DPRjones has given Venfangx ten days to terminate his account for one year, the little dumbass is freaking out. He first posted a video saying that DPR is a bad person and threatening him. (He sure loves the victim card) And saying that he is right in filing the DMCA's against DPR. He says that DPR's videos incite hatred against him and his family, and atheists are giving out his personal info (when the personal info he is talking about isn't even his real address or phone…

If you keep up with youtube Drama, or even watch Atheist Vloggers on Youtube, then you probably know about Venomfangx aka, Shawn, aka PCS. Shawn was a popular creationist youtuber. He dared to spread misinformation about evolution. Thunderf00t, another youtuber, an educator about evolution brought Shawn down quickly. Shortly after this, Shawn filed a false DMCA on Tf00t and got a few of his videos taken down that showed parts of Shawn's. Thunderf00t threatened to take legal action on Shawn and…

A few months ago, I accidentally came across a photo posted on a forum site. The picture was of a 8 week old kitten being impaled by a woman's high-heel stiletto. I kept seeing the picture in my head weeks afterward. I read some where that in order to get these images to stop, I had to get some sort of closure. What I really wanted to know, was if the makers of the video and the woman had any sort of punishment.
I found out. The woman, had none really. She lived in China where there are no…

When people assume I am a theist, I usually correct them and say "I'm an atheist." Usually, they usually stop assuming, or at most get offended like I just confessed I eat babies or am a satanic priestess. The demand to know at that moment "What?! You don't believe in God, Why?" There is usually no pause after that, but it is filled with a rant (if they are Christian) about how Jesus (AKA God) came down and died for your sins and loves YOU personally...
When pressed like this what do you…

I'm always told that I should repent, I will have to account for my non-belief when I stand before God, and so on.
Here is my response, I'm sure many others have thought of this.
If God is all-knowing, he must already know my future.
If the future is known, then there is no such thing as free will. (See determinism)
So either, God did not give us free will, or he doesn't exist.
So Christians try to argue that God knowing our futures doesn't make free will…

After all the fuss about
Twilight I finally decided to read it. Originally, I pushed it off as nothing more than a fad book, that is mediocre at best, my expectations were not quashed as I read through this book.
Myers had other motives for this book, obviously and her Christian faith had a strong influence on the behavior of her characters.
The basic plot of the story is, Bella, a 17 year old girl, falls "in love" (more like becomes infatuated with) Edward Cullen a 104…

What I said:
My non-belief in an Abrahamic God is not due to ethics, how ever they do provide a lot of reason why Yahweh is not ethical.
I don't believe in the Abrahamic God because its impossible to be all-knowing and all-powerful. Could God change his future mind?
Why did God create mankind to begin with if he had nothing to gain from it, since he is all powerful and perfect?
her reply: My friend helped answer so this is what he…

Why do theists think that quoting the bible will change our minds? It obviously didn't already and its not going to. It has no rock hard evidence of anything.
They use scare tactics to get us believe -- saying we're going to Hell for not believing. What do they honestly expect us to do? Say "oh, you're treating me like a gullible child so I better shape up and listen to you." No. It's like their telling us "If you don't believe in Santa, you won't get any presents." Only, there are no…

98% of theists (don't ask where I got those statistics. I don't know.) I've talked to for some reason think this is an end-all good argument, when it really is a poor one.
They usually start out by asking if you believe in good and evil. My answer is yes, with a but. Yes but...people aren't all good or evil. Good and evil are very vague and broad terms, especially the word good. The idea of Good and Evil isn't the same for all people, but generally most people living in the same place…

I've heard a few theists say "Hitler was atheist."
In the God delusion, I read this and why it's a bad argument. Basically even if Hitler was an Atheist (ignoring the fact he mentioned in many speeches that he was Christian and that he was doing God's work.) his horrendous acts were not inspired by atheism.
Theists seem to think because we don't follow a moral code supposedly handed to us by a higher power we have are amoral. Basically ignoring the fact that there are laws and…

Watch this video. Make sure you have some hard liquor near you or you might attempt to punch the screen. Do not attempt this, you will damage your screen and possibly hurt your hand.
First of all, no one is really Pro-abortion. Really its for the right to be able to have one or not.
Mr. Geerup's entire argument here is that every fetus or zygote has a unique set of DNA so it is 'special' and aborting said fetus…

I've asked several theists this, and I am certainly not the first Non-christian to come up with this idea.
Why did God create us in the first place?
1. He knew we'd do naughty things to anger him all the time. (rape, murder...no wait those things appease the God of Abraham.)
2. He doesn't need to be entertained since he is a perfect being and can't get bored.
3. He doesn't need companionship since he is perfect and doesn't get lonely.
4. He already knows…

When theists (Christians mostly) use the old watch maker argument because "The world is too complex to happen by chance." The counter argument is "Then God is much to complex to happen by chance." They normally counter with a few things "God is outside space and time; therefore he needs no creator." I couldn't help but say "What?!" I find this answer to be nonsense. How could anything exist outside space and time? How do you know this (bible verses). And how does this stop God from needing a…

DprJones, a semi-popular atheist youtuber started mirror videos on a man who calls himself wallyo777, or pookah666. Wallyo is a pedophile with an odd fetish. He likes feet. Not just any feet, how ever, particularly the feet of a young girl (ages 10-17 mostly) he first send them a request to answer questions for him, then continues with the requests, IE getting them to show him their feet.
Many of DPRJones subscribers don't care for these videos, saying things like "It's weird but…
