Be forewarned —
This really is Penn’s private party. He’s paying for everything and JREF has nothing to do with it. This party will be whatever Penn wants; it’s not a JREF…

What if you took the Bible and edited out all the supernatural references and got to the core of its ethical teachings? That’s not quite what the new release by…

I’m an Atheist who sees god. Do laugh, but don’t click away, yet. Seeing or perceiving god is really easy, even for a non-believer. Even in my godfree world, God is a collage of artistic-aesthetic re-presentations, a sensory response to the magnificent beauty of a stunningly decorated church, a life-like statue, a painting, a ritual song or dance, a poem, etc. To me, God exists as an awe inspiring anthropological artifact which can never be fully dead as long as I retain the ability… Continue

I've been doing some research and found that the world actually is coming to an end! Holy bandwagon, Batman!
That's right...the planet Earth will possibly end in 4 to 7 1/2 billion years. We're gunna party like it's 19,000,000,99!
Assuming our dear home avoids being flung around like a pool ball in the collision between the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies, the leading thought is that the Earth will be sucked into… Continue

I bent the binding of The Good Atheist, Living a Purpose-Filled Life Without God, by Dan Barker, in hopes that I would either come out of it in some way affirmed or finally have a resource for a person struggling with the decision to let go of their faith. When I closed the book, I felt like a sore eared member of the choir. The majority of Barker’s book is an appeal to authority and celebrity, a mishap of astonishing proportion when speaking about, to, or for, a community that… Continue

Edit: I didn't name this? I are dumb.
Now before you jump down my throat I'm not saying it's bad, the original trilogy is good for the most part but it is not the gold that people seem to view it as. There are many good parts but there are bad parts as well. Continue
I know someone will say in response to some of my criticisms: "in the novelisation ..." I don't care. I doesn't matter what the novelisation says, the movies are what matter, not the novelisations of the movies. Another…

The first bit of awareness is not that you are thinking. It is of something. Something in reality. You sense first, then you think. It takes a multitude of sensations before you can have thought, or the manipulation and integration of concepts. As such, the very first statement, if you will, or thought you can make or the base of all cognition, epistemology and therefore philosophy is not 'I think therefore I am', but 'there is something I am aware of'. This entails an existent with identity… Continue

The clips were lifted from an old Hour of Slack show from 1999, which included clips from a documentary that may not exist called "Countdown to X-Day." This was to be the last X-Day, as they were all expecting the X-ists to come down in their pleasure saucers in a trail of destruction, waiting to present their minister cards as passage onto the ships. These recordings were of their excitement and… Continue

An imaginary interaction with my mother in which she poses the point "I'm at the end of my life when I must look forward to meeting my maker and going to heaven, and you want to take that away from me?". In my mind I feel her agony at the thought of it all being a lie. I know this pain because I've felt it myself. It's not all that dissimilar from the feeling I had when my father came clean about Santa Claus. It's a let down to know it was just a big scam.
In my mind I attempt to… Continue

Chapter 4 hath arrived!!
Let’s groove tonight!!
“The man had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and bore Cain, saying, "I have produced a man with the help of the LORD." Next she bore his brother Abel. Abel became a keeper of flocks, and Cain a tiller of the soil. In the course of time Cain brought an offering to the LORD from the fruit of the soil, while Abel, for his part, brought one of the best firstlings of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his… Continue

2009 was the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin birth and also the 150th anniversary of the publishing of On The Origins of Species In 1859. In The United Kingdom the Royal Mint has issued a commemorative two pound coin with the stuck pose of Darwin on the right facing across from a portrayal of chimpanzee. On the front of the coin is, of course, the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The coin is issued in a limited edition and you may be able to order on from the website listed… Continue

I always think it is funny when I post a spoof article and some people say: "That's not true!" and post a Snope's link, debunking the story. I tend to think that some stories are obviously jokes. So, I thought it would be fun to show you how some spoof articles, like those of the Onion, are written. They take a real article, like this one: … Continue
