This struck me funny this morning as I was contemplating -lost in thought. Even the question itself, "Does God exist?", is bizarre.
My girls will watch a questionably scary movie and immediately be wary of the dark rooms in our house. I have several rational arguments to belay, to ease their worries. Arguments that allow me to run through creepy old houses in the dark no-problem. Here's 2 examples...
Despite being 11 years into the 21st century, in the United States the train of ignorance rolls on and shows no signs of slowing down. Before, I start in on this rant (yes, it is a rant) I must admit that I am highly disgusted by the colossal amount of misinformation the black church passes along. I am incensed by the ignorance it encourages and more importantly, I am frightened by the amount of, what else can I call it, bullshit the community actually…
Very bad day for me on the hole, but pertaining to what this website is about is my largest hitch.
Today i was talking to two friends i had just met about the tornado that ripped apart the high school she had gone to and that i would have gone to if it hadn't. She was talking about the people in suburbs that hid in closets and bathrooms and had survived because of it, ending her sentence with something like "now thats god." This is where things get…
I know most people don't hang their laundry outside anymore, but I had always thought it was just b/c they're lazy.
It saves a ton of money and energy, but people are too concerned with their own vanity ("it looks trailer trash") to tolerate. People objecting to the sight of someone else's undergarments is very Victorian. (Look away, then.) The… Continue
This is my first blog post on Nexus and with a title such as I have titled this blog, possibly my last but I hope not. A little about myself before we get into the meat of this subject...
I was born and raised in a small town in southeastern Ohio. I was a failure in the public education system and dropped out in the eighth grade. I worked in a variety of jobs mostly in the corrugated box industry. I have lived in Columbus Oh, Jacksonville Fl, Greenbay Wi, Fargo ND and now I am back… Continue
If you've been living under a rock since the 2008 Presidential Election, you may need the following information.
In the United States we have a stupid, fucking, unjustified Constitutional stipulation that dictates that only US Citizens who are citizens by birth are eligible for the office of the President. Whether not you agree with it, it is the law.
Now, since Barack Obama has become the President there are those who still cannot come to terms with election and have… Continue

Ray Comfort is a creationist. You may remember him from the Crocoduck video I posted last weekend. Ray has a blog called (for some reason, I don’t quite get it) “Atheist Central”. Today Ray posted attacking evolution, and the so-called “pope of evolution”, The New Atheist favourite (that’s for you, my Commonwealth friends) Richard Dawkins. The article is full of glaring hypocrisies, I almost didn’t want to post about it, as it’s just too much.… Continue
Ah, Don McLeroy, the creationist dentist and scourge of secular Texans. Don is in a lot of trouble you see, after thrusting Texas into the national spot light when he pushed for looser language in the education standards that would allow creationism in the classroom. More
I've had to be a tightwad lately. I haven't been able to donate as much as I'd like to for various worthy causes. Today I recieved the following from Equal Rights Washington, a local group advocating marriage equality for everyone in my state. As a… Continue
christianity drives me nuts. I find it to be reprehensible in most aspects but here are a few issues that top my list at the moment. Please feel free to add to the list, and to include islam and any other religion. I found it overwhelming to even get as far as I did. It's rather depressing how evil it all is. See the list at HDC along with links.
Have a great day, my… Continue
a little background on me first.
i was raised in a liberal catholic family in the american midwest. about junior high i decided all that stuff was a crock of shit and my parents were kinda like, we believe but.... yeah, not literally. so they let me and my younger brother decide for ourselves. creationism was something that as a family was completely ridiculed.
so i had no interest in hearing anything about creationism or "intelligent design." until the other day when i was just… Continue
My brain doesn't work very well without certain amounts of quiet and solitude. As a SAHM, I do not frequently get time to take away from family responsibilities. The only time that I really get an opportunity to think without interruption is when I go swimming.
I haven't been able to go for a while because of an ankle injury I managed to inflict on myself while gardening this summer. Yeah, gardening. Shovel+border removal = fall down go crunch OW ow Ow that fucking hurts! I don't… Continue

After the debacle Saturday, I began to wonder. Why do ignorant people seem to do better in life than intelligent people? I read that people that take larger risks, on average, reap larger rewards. The article was referring to the game show “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” The author was noting that contestants rarely went for the million dollars and therefore very few ever received it. If the real world is this way, then the most successful people should be the ones that take the most risks. I… Continue
Top fundamentalist\creationist Christian responses to science, intellectualism, reason and empirical evidence. These are only common responses that have arisen within the short time I’ve really started using the internet to rape fundamentalists; there are, of course, countless other hilarious things that come up in conversation, and countless other hilarious proofs against God. This is a very small starting point, but it amused me.
1. “Biological life cannot come into existence from… Continue
