THE DRONGOS LIST: Top five most BRAINDEAD groups (DRONGOS) on the planet

Drongo is Australian slang for an absolute idiot, twit, braindead fool, which derived it's name after a useless racehorse that never won a race from 37 starts. Of course a group of such useless idiots would be termed Drongos.

Society will collapse without god!

From my blog

People have been warning that "society is going to collapse" since the dawn of societies millennia ago. Despite a track record of failure spanning longer than recorded time, some modern day religious people like to pull out this gem to argue that refusing to adhere to their world-view will cause the downfall of life as we know it. In actuality, it is the world view of the religious person that will collapse if everybody… Continue

Is Civility Dead?

Is Civility Dead?

by Natalie Pompilio

I live in a city known for its brotherly love, but I didn’t see a lot of that one recent day while reading an on-line edition of the newspaper where I work. The public comment section contained some of the coldest, most vicious writing I’d ever seen.

Under an article about a woman’s murder and her boyfriend’s arrest, some one wrote, “So 2 pieces of trash are off the street…

Catholic Church lying again.

Does hypocrisy know no bounds? The English branch is now saying that society is selfish, irresponsible and is suffering form 'a lack of trust'.

Enlightened society

I just sent this to Kristy..but I thought I'd add it here:

I have been joining all the forums etc mainly to throw in my support in terms of the numbers these groups represent. During my life I always expected that secular reasoning had won and we would move slowly but surely to an enlightened society. It has been a great shock over the last decade to see that I was wrong and that a new battle needs to be waged. I never thought "atheism" per se was a subject worth discussing except in… Continue

"Discrimination? Naw, God is just punishing you!"

This is some seriously messed up nonsense.

I found this on Postsecret today. It reads:

"A while back my husband renounced his religion Then he lost his job Now we are about to lose our house

and possibly our marriage

I wonder when he will see the connection?"
I can think of at least two reasons why this is bullshit.

First off: He could very well have lost his job due to (non)religious persecution.… Continue

The bullshit idea of a "Secular society" in America

Taken from my blog:

I hear the phrase “secular society” thrown around a lot. Usually the people I hear using it are saying it with a tone of disgust in their voice, as if the secular society was keeping their religion from breathing easy, free from scrutiny or any kind of restraints.

So what exactly is a secular society? Well when I asked google to define it, all it did… Continue

Can secularism be blamed for societal ills?

I was over at Insanna’s blog commenting on her posts, when I suddenly saw myself get swallowed into a debate with a Muslim.

I am an atheist, a secular humanist. I live a good life, like my atheist friends. I have found that secularism does not hinder the development of this.

Abdullah, a commenter on Insanna’s blog, believes that secularism is the cause of societies ills.

Two world wars, the end justfys the… Continue

Freedom and it's limits...

...do freedom exist?

It is possible that something such as "freedom", that is, the state in which a person can do anything she/he wants whenever she/he wants to do it without having to make any excuse, nor feel guilty about it nor regret. Thus, being "free" is a superior state that is like the Nirvana. That is: freedom is a mental state which go beyond all worldly things (society) and returns people to a more primitivecondition.

The question here is: can a person or a… Continue

Not Again, Again!

Well, for all of those who have been concerned, and even those that couldn’t give a shit, I’m still here. I haven’t succumbed to the consequences of my so-called ‘maladaptive behavior’. The powers that run society haven’t yet deleted me from the universe.

It’s good to know I’m not the Lone Deviant of society and others don’t see that any values are required to be a functioning participant within the various categories of social clusters which form societies. I spent some time… Continue

Social Reconstruction: Parts 1 & 2

These are two pieces based on related thoughts written at different times quite some time ago... probably between 1.5 and 3 years ago. So it seems that the time is near... it feels good to finally be a proud American again.

Part 1

We need social reconstruction. I won’t even talk of reform, for it seems to imply that the current state of being is salvageable. While not all is bad in the current state, it will be easier to destroy what we have and build… Continue

De-Christianizing

Today I blogged about de-christianizing actions and thinking. Full post here. I am curious as to how you feel about the need to remove religious expressions and actions from our lives as much as possible.

Do you think it's necessary? Do you have any suggestions for… Continue
