Santa Clause is not real?

I asked my family this weekend why they as Christians feel it is OK to lie to their children about Santa Clause. I explained that, to me, it seemed quite hypocritical that one of the Christian tenants is not to lie, but yet in celebration of the very beginning of Christianity Christians lie to their children about this man who brings toys. Santa Claus lives at Macys!

Am I the only one disturbed by this Macys ad? I wonder what poor Virginia think when she finds out that Santa Claus indeed does not exist.
