Where the hell have I been?

Beats me.

Oh, well, yeah, I know.  But should I tell?  Mostly I've been running thither and yon, metaphorically speaking, and sinking into a morass of self pity and morose depression.  I have papers to prove it!  OK, not really, but sort'of.  I keep trying to shake off this damned sense of humor but it just won't go away.  I even quit taking my Happy Pills so freely give by the VA and the pissant thing sneaks up on me, like today.

I'm ok if I don't move.  If I take my Gabby and…

Relationships - can i haz one?

I have no one right now to talk to. No one at all. So for now, I suppose a cruddy blog will have to do. But I can't hold back any more because I feel like my emotional state is just spiraling out of control over something that happened to me a few weeks before Thanksgiving that drudged up a lot of very deep old wounds. It wasn't even something bad, rather, it had the potential to be something good. But because I have a lot of issues with forming bonds with people due to my past experiences with… Continue

Mourning a friend I "lost" to religion.

So anyway, I had a friend in High School, well, more of a friend of a friend. Actually more to the point the girlfriend of a friend. Let's call her Lynn. Not her real name, but as I describe her, people who know me will know exactly whom I'm referring to. Lynn was Class of '87, if I recall correctly, while I was Class of '89, as was my friend Jay (not his real name), who hooked up with Lynn his sophomore year (her Senior year). Some of us thought Jay was he luckiest guy in our circle of… Continue

Another Sad PostSecret

A little while ago I posted an entry about very depressing PostSecret in which a wife suggested that all of her husband's troubles were the result of God punishing him for renouncing his faith. There's another one like that in this week's secrets.

"I'm scared my husband won't come home because I don't believe in God."
It's kind of a… Continue

the most honest answer I'm likely to get

My mom and I are both going through therapy over her mother, my cult-leader grandma. So, tonight we had another conversation about religion, faith, faith-healing, Paul, Revelation, and the apocalypse. She told me about her sister's teeth being miraculously straightened, and that she believes in prayer. (My grandmother was a faith-healer, hence the heavy focus on this.) I told her that people of all different faiths can report miraculous healings, that they experience the sensation the Christian… Continue

Sometimes they just make me sad.

I'm browsing Facebook roups right now, and I just found one called "I'M NOTHING WITHOUT GOD."

...That's just really sad, isn't it? They've just explicitly stated that they are nothing without God. It's like they see themselves as worthless. What about all the good things they have done? What about all of their abilities and accomplishments? How can you se your self as "nothing" without God?

It sure helps… Continue
