High School with Rudy Giuliani

Here's my latest eBook, kinky and fun as ever.  Plus it brings our a serious national problem that we all should be concerned about.  As always a five-dollar purchase will help me continue buying ads on Atheist/Nexus to support our important website—to go along with…

Catholic Parents: Oh No! Don't Give Our Children The Gay!

My wife and I both work and we have a two year old kid. This takes up a lot of my time so lots can happen in this world of ours without my noticing it. Like natural disasters, revolutions, whole continents disappearing into the sea and Bill 13, which is making its way through the legislature in…

Josh Brecheen hits the big time.

Looks like newly elected Oklahoma State Senator is getting a real education in foot in mouth disease. Since his editorial has been posted in The Durant Daily Democrat on December 22, 2010 there has been

national reaction in the forums blogs and other places as well. Sadly it

looks like we [none creation people] are going to be the losers in this

battle. If you have been keeping up with my blogs you know that I have

mentioned the idea that those that are faced with facts…

Response to Senator Josh Brecheen of Oklahoma.

One of the bills I will file this year may be dismissed as inferior by “intellectuals” so I wanted to devote particular time in discussing it’s merits. [You put intellectuals in quotes so we do not know

exactly what or who he is referring to here. “it's” means, “it is.” This

makes no sense grammatically.

It doesn’t address state waste, economic development, workers comp reform or lawsuit reform (although I have filed bills concerning each) but it is…

Pres. Ulysses Grant 1875 to a veteran's meeting (Blaine_amendment)

President Ulysses S. Grant (1869-1877) in a speech in 1875 to a veteran's meeting...

called for a Constitutional amendment that would mandate free public schools and prohibit the use of public money for sectarian schools.

Grant laid out his agenda for "good common school education." He

attacked government support for… Continue

Just as annoying on national radio

I often come to the site and nit pick, point out fallacy, and am the ever present skeptic. It can be annoying, I know, but I cant help it...and yesterday when I heard the CBC claim that Jupiter's lost belt would be around 150,000 KM long, I just couldnt sit idly by without response. Fortunately for the listeners, CBC found a most clever and entertaining method to wrap my comments in, which, I felt, made it well worth sharing with all you folks at A/N.…

The O3 Campaign

http://www.myspace.com/511538195

Please check out my myspace page and show your support. We want to get the word out so that the godless survivors of incest, sexual assault or rape have a community to speak up with or out to. The O3 Campaign is also dedicated to publically using the word 'Atheist'. Why? Because we don't feel it to be a negative word, and the more it is used it will become a 'household' name and not be immediately… Continue

Sexual Trauma and the Non-Believer

I am a sexual assault victim's advocate in Texas. The one constant that I see on a regular basis is the undying need to believe that a god has protected the victim from death, or somehow povided a cell phone to call for help. Of course when I'm at he hospital with the victim and their family, I keep quiet and remember that this is not the time or place for a theological discussion or debate. I do not participate in their prayers, but I do not act negatively to them either. Some call this… Continue

Doctors Say Yes To The Public Option

On August 20th, a collection of doctors in Santa Rosa, California, assembled on a corner and lobbied the public to support the public health care option. EmpireReport.org reporter, John Stiffler, interviewed some of the doctors and created a video. What do you think?

Doctors Demonstrate for a Public Option in Health Care Reform!!! from Jon Stiffler on…

Public Enemies: Worth Looking At, Not Worth Watching

Based on the true story of a notorious depression-era bank robber, Public Enemies brings the crime spree and police hunt of John Dillinger to the silver screen. In a film that desperately attempts to provoke any emotion, Public Enemies fails to capture the imagination, create emotional dimension or shock the senses.

In 1933, during the height of the Great Depression, John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) and his crew crisscrossed the country, robbing banks and became folk heroes. During an… Continue

science says: abstinence-only education is a public health hazard

On his trip to Africa, Pope Benedict XVI declared that traditional Church teachings are the only failsafe way to prevent the spread of STIs. So I decided to take a look at what science has to say about it and found that not only is traditional abstinence-only education an abject failure (ex: 82% of virginity pledgers deny their pledge later and have just one less partner than non-pledgers), it's also dangerous to the public at large. (… Continue

Discovering the secularist cause: New post at Examiner.com

Here's my latest at Examiner.com, under my new title, "DC Secularism Examiner." It's a brief history of what brought me to writing about atheist activism.

A taste:

As I put my career in professional theatre temporarily aside (populated by a generally liberal and socially tolerant demographic) and toward politics, I came to realize that while my own…

I haven't blogged much recently

I have been meaning to blog more recently, but I just don't seem to find all that much time to do it.

Here are a couple of things that I've been meaning to blog about:

1. The forthcoming atheist bus advertisements in London. Due January 2009.

And there's more… Continue
