About five weeks ago on The Atheist Experience a caller said he was a young atheist going to a religious camp, which he had attended for many years as a believer. Now that he's an atheist, but in the closet about it, he's decided to… Continue

Okay... I think we can all relax.
I didn't watch it the first few times I saw it linked, because I read the summary and it just sounded depressing. Eventually I caved in and witnessed the nightmare for myself.
AN: I wrote an advertisement for the religious plea in the voice of a lawyer or something. My cynicism glad was about to burst, so I had to write this. Of course, it can also be read and commented upon at Good reason News.
Have you committed a crime, but now the courts want to punish you? How dare they!? Maybe it's time… Continue
I have noticed that the vast majority of Christians I encounter are engaged in idolatry, and don't know it. True story follows.
During this past Easter season, a piece of artwork depicting Jesus praying in the garden of Gethsemane disappeared from its usual location. One particular person was highly disturbed. This person ranted and raved, waving their arms about claiming that someone had taken down the picture of Jesus. "Who could it have been!?", they cried. "Who could it have… Continue
Later this week my religion class is going to be "debating" whether or not Jesus was born of a virgin. I of course am going to say he wasn't, and as practice thought I'd run through my reasons here.
What I think it comes down to is probability. Which is a more probable explanation for crop circles?
A) Aliens with super advanced technology that allows them to travel MILLIONS of light years… Continue
I hear the phrase “secular society” thrown around a lot. Usually the people I hear using it are saying it with a tone of disgust in their voice, as if the secular society was keeping their religion from breathing easy, free from scrutiny or any kind of restraints.
So what exactly is a secular society? Well when I asked google to define it, all it did… Continue
You've probably heard that the southern OZ firestorm was caused, obviously, by our liberalisation of abortion laws. I'm trying a different tack with these maggots. I think this is a good approach for any nutjob that chooses to associate tragic disasters with godlessness -

I would like to personally thank you for the following article -

Jesus Christ had seen many problems with Old religion Judaism as a young man of whom seemingly was a free thinker. Of who not only questioned his own religion but those of other surrounding cultures?
Israel was not cut off from the world traders from Asia and from the Roman empire would relate their own cultural beliefs when on their travels to and throw in the middle east. Greek philosophy and the philosophy’s of Asia would of course be a conversational norm in… Continue
As out spoken Atheist we are always bitching about the stupid things we see in the Christian Bible (well I do, lol).
A few weeks ago I was thinking well look this guy Christ I can believe he walked on earth 2000 years ago. But magic no, I have seen how such tricks are done it’s all slight of hand, lol But of course I throw coins sometimes in to a wishing well and have a vague idea that I have a 1000000 to 1 chance of my wish to come true. Other than being the King of England of… Continue
You may be a declared atheist maybe a weak atheist like me, but I am sure at times you wonder if you got it all wrong. What if a God or Gods really do exists yes I am sure at times you may wonder and lets be honest about it, its at times when we think of dying.
I often lay in bed wondering what if I got it all wrong but then the hard facts come to mind about my path to atheism which was due to reading the holy text, well at least those that originated from the Middle… Continue
My atheist jaunt on Facebook stirred some feathers, it seems. I got some drunken heckling for it from someone that used to be a friend, and since as far as my ideology is concerned I REALLY care about this, I'm going to respond. I don't give a shit if you don't like it. You know who you is.
Firstly, issues were taken with me even having the audacity to argue with christians and what they believe. Why can't I just leave them alone, eh? Why can't I keep my mouth shut?
Top fundamentalist\creationist Christian responses to science, intellectualism, reason and empirical evidence. These are only common responses that have arisen within the short time I’ve really started using the internet to rape fundamentalists; there are, of course, countless other hilarious things that come up in conversation, and countless other hilarious proofs against God. This is a very small starting point, but it amused me.
1. “Biological life cannot come into existence from… Continue

I can't believe I'm actually linking a 'news' story from WorldNetDaily...but here it is. (btw, if you want a good source for extreme right wing christian wackyness, that site is it...hands down)
I often hear from religionists in general and Christians in particular that we cannot fathom the way god works or that we must place faith in god's plan. And, most perplexingly of all, I have often heard that we cannot question the authenticity of the Bible. According to these people the Bible has been written by the creator of the universe and is perfectly constructed without error.
I know that most Christians in the United States probably do not believe that, but then again I'm not… Continue
This morning, as I was walking home, at the far end of the street the most amazing cloud of smog I've ever seen caught my attention. It didn't rise and dissolve itself in the atmosphere but instead seemed to be revolving madly upon itself, as if it were inside an invisible giant blender. Curiosity piqued, I kept walking towards it, thoughts absorbed in examining the details of this bizarre atmospheric phenomenon.
The cloud was just a few feet above the ground but it was far too small… Continue

I have a bad memory, but this is the best I can remember.
So today I went to lunch with a few people from work, and everything was going fine until the way home. It turned into a typical "Christian-who's-never-met-an-atheist" conversation. I was riding with two female co-workers, Mary, who is a Deist and Annie, a Christian. Mary mentioned something about her bad luck, and said it was a bad sign "if you believe in… Continue
