So, I listened to a little bit of Dave Ramsey today on talk radio because, well, conservative talk is about the only option in East Tennessee, and I usually prefer talk with which I disagree compared with bad pop and worse rock. If you don't know who Dave Ramsey is, he's…Continue

Religious believe that science theory exists just to prove that God does not exist. Religious belief is also just a theory but not to the Fundi. Truly, belief and theory are synonymous. The fighting over what “nobody knows as fact” truly is a twilight zone script. This is a rhetorical battle of imagination where everyone loses and has for over 2500 years. How long is it to continue? Do the religious realize that science is not fighting? Science simply goes about the daily business of…Continue

I have asked this of several different non-theist sources and have yet to get a satisfactory answer. So I thought I would pose it here for your thoughts. This article is how I've argued against biblical morality. This is Matt Dillahunty discussing this point. …Continue

Just a small thing that has troubled me for some time - it may seen like a joke, but I'm genuinely curious.
In the catholic faith (the only one I know), god is always referred to as a man (He, the Father, et cetera...) and the only woman prayed to is Mary (not a godess, but as the mother of Jesus, son of god). This always appeared to me to be a way to make women into second class members of the church (that and a whole lot of other things in the catholic…Continue

I consider the Cosmological Argument the best argument for a creator God. Given the theme of this blog, I don’t consider it a particularly good argument, but it is the best none the less. What follows is the most fair, if not conclusive, rebuttal I have to give.
The argument from the origin of the universe, or the Cosmological Argument dates back to the beginning of apologetics. If you are interested in the history, Google it. I plan on…

What do you blog about when you don’t feel like blogging and don’t have anything to say? The Bible! Nothing like a bit of Bible study to get you going right? Right.
I thought that today, I’d go back to the beginning. You know, this bit:
1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
I think even some Christians might recognize that line. It’s the first line of the Bible (the King James version anyway…). And I know…Continue

I know everyone here knows the answer is yes, but I am writing this for the ones that have not figured that out yet.
I came upon this a few minutes ago, and figured I'd share. God is the best troll ever ^_^

My parents are pretty confusing when it comes to their religious beliefs. Neither of them are hardcore or anything, and I think they simply believe because they never really (seriously) considered anything else. My mom usually speaks about God (when she does) in a general way, while I think my dad would be a tiny bit more "Christian-y" about it. My father can easily poke fun at Christianity and bring up silly questions (such as whether or not Jesus knew about pizza at the time he was alive,…Continue

Actually I'm not going to apologize for breaking the rules (for if they were important they would have been written down in a place where I would have read them . I am going to apologize for offending you. Hmmm...perhaps not; for insult is taken. never given and I…Continue

This is my very first post on here so be very, very kind. Maybe even sycophantic if you have it in you… ;-)
I've decided to post this in order to avoid having a drawn out and painful discussion with the original author of a Christian apology which, like arguing with a drunk teenager, is largely pointless and always entirely depressing.
The post in question was from someone called Templestream, a guy who was trolling on Atheist Revolution. His theory was the typical drivel and…Continue
