Coming to a Head?
This one waited in the wings for me at least 20 years, but it took a gift from a well meaning friend to make it into an issue. This past December a friend of my wife gave her a Christmas gift in the form of a plaque which ended with the word’s “God Bless the Barbera’s.”
It had some other ridiculous schlock…

THE DRONGOS LIST: Top five most BRAINDEAD groups (DRONGOS) on the planet
Drongo is Australian slang for an absolute idiot, twit, braindead fool, which derived it's name after a useless racehorse that never won a race from 37 starts. Of course a group of such useless idiots would be termed Drongos.
1: Flat Earth Society: http://theflatearthsociety.org/cms/

Why do Theistic Idiots wrongly and stupidly glorify or thank their imaginary god for the Great Deeds of Great real People?
Recently had a meeting with a cancer patient who, through the great work of a couple of extremely good, skilled radiologists had her brain tumors reduced without any new evidence of growth, so she is now in remission.
Yet, on finding out the great news from her follow-up scans, went to church to thank her god and sent a notification to the minister to thank all those who prayed for her.
No thought entered her mind to actually send the thank-you notification to those brilliant…

Will Neurology Kill god????
So far neurology has killed god in some patients who have visions and experiences of god as a symptom of their temporal lobe epilepsy and lesions.
In one case the question was asked of a neurosurgeon who was dealing catholic nun whose extreme devotion to her god, with visions and voices was found to be a symptom of a lesion in her temporal lobe.
Should the neurosurgeon perform the operation which would remove this nun's godly experiences and notions or leave the lesion alone so…

Wealth, treasure and thrift in the Bible
So, I listened to a little bit of Dave Ramsey today on talk radio because, well, conservative talk is about the only option in East Tennessee, and I usually prefer talk with which I disagree compared with bad pop and worse rock. If you don't know who Dave Ramsey is, he's…

EVIL DOES NOT EXIST!
I find it very funny that the religious concept of Evil doesn't exist in reality.
The nearest we can get to evil in human nature are psychopaths.
But, the cause for their inability to comprehend human empathy or altruism is known to be caused by damage or faults within the limbic system (empathy center) of the brain.
Thus even psychopaths are not evil.
If found early enough, they can be chemically treated and behavior can be modified or controlled.
Those that get…
RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
Religious believe that science theory exists just to prove that God does not exist. Religious belief is also just a theory but not to the Fundi. Truly, belief and theory are synonymous. The fighting over what “nobody knows as fact” truly is a twilight zone script. This is a rhetorical battle of imagination where everyone loses and has for over 2500 years. How long is it to continue? Do the religious realize that science is not fighting? Science simply goes about the daily business of…

Why don't Atheists use empathy as an argument against Religious/biblical/god morality claims?
I have asked this of several different non-theist sources and have yet to get a satisfactory answer. So I thought I would pose it here for your thoughts. This article is how I've argued against biblical morality. This is Matt Dillahunty discussing this point. …

God is a woman? Gender identity, biological sex and the trans man Godess.
Just a small thing that has troubled me for some time - it may seen like a joke, but I'm genuinely curious.
In the catholic faith (the only one I know), god is always referred to as a man (He, the Father, et cetera...) and the only woman prayed to is Mary (not a godess, but as the mother of Jesus, son of god). This always appeared to me to be a way to make women into second class members of the church (that and a whole lot of other things in the catholic…

When talking to theists, the theist will eventually say something to the effect like "It's part of
gODs plan".
Hmmmm......To me, when I make a plan I'm not sure of the outcome though I hope for a
positive outcome.
Example;
Lets say I want to go from Florida to Arizona. So...I get out my maps, calculator, pencil
and paper and make a list of what I need to do. THIS IS MY PLAN
Will my plan have a positive outcome? It's unknown till I reach…

First Cause
I consider the Cosmological Argument the best argument for a creator God. Given the theme of this blog, I don’t consider it a particularly good argument, but it is the best none the less. What follows is the most fair, if not conclusive, rebuttal I have to give.
The argument from the origin of the universe, or the Cosmological Argument dates back to the beginning of apologetics. If you are interested in the history, Google it. I plan on…

Lies, damn lies and the people who ignore them
What do you blog about when you don’t feel like blogging and don’t have anything to say? The Bible! Nothing like a bit of Bible study to get you going right? Right.
I thought that today, I’d go back to the beginning. You know, this bit:
1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
I think even some Christians might recognize that line. It’s the first line of the Bible (the King James version anyway…). And I know…
