Arguing with Family

A few months ago my cousin - a highly religious girl - posted a status stating that she is extremely disappointed that she won't be enrolling her future unborn son in to boy scouts.

Naturally, I debated with her, in which her mother joined in, talking about how homosexual actions are a "sin against god."

I then pointed out many other "sins" against god (i.e: eating pork, or wearing clothing of two separate fabrics, etc.… Continue

Fathers Day Extravaganza

1. Fathers and Sons

Over the past few days we've really gotten to know each other better.  He's been tested and currently places on the mild end of the ASD scale (I'm likely right there with him) -…

Dad is dying.

I've never been affected at all by people around me dying, but I've also never had anyone this close die. So now I'll learn how I deal with death.

All of the relatives are posting messages on Facebook saying "prayers coming in from here" and "more prayers coming from here." I know I shouldn't be insulted by this. He was a Christian and probably would be grateful for these (if he weren't unconscious and all), but it all just seems so silly, like they aren't taking it…

Not again...Father guns down 6-daughters in Islamic "honor killing"

While the tragedy in Norway happened by a lone wolf - let's not forget the true horrors of Islam. Please tell me people - when does something like this happen among Christians? Let's not be politically correct in realizing the real threats facing humanity as a whole is not "Christian" or "right-wing" terror but Islamic terror...

My dad died yesterday.

He collapsed at work. Probably a heart attack of some kind. I'll post again when I have more presence of mind to do so. That's all.

What kind of father is HE anyway?

Raccoons, rats, sharks and flat worms find their food in nature. All they have to do is find it and take it. Most of them succeed, since as far as I know those species have existed for millions of years and are still with us today. So it’s fair to say that a large number of…

religion, now with aliens?

In May of last year, the director of the Vatican Observatory, Father Gabriel Funes, attracted a few sideways glances after he said that not only could intelligent aliens exist on other worlds but they would be free from original sin since there’s nothing in the Bible about aliens eating the forbidden fruit. But while his article in a Vatican newspapers has been published as an novel oddity, does it represent a future trend of religious institutions rushing to make a definitive statement on… Continue

that sucks..

I'm not 100% sure how to start this so I am just going to say that my father died from a motorcycle crash July 29, 1997; two days before my 12th birthday. He was not religious; I suppose I'd describe him as agnostic. He wasn't concerned with the afterlife but moreso with the now; his children in general. He was an absolute great father.

The first thing I want to say is that it irritates me when people say "I'm sorry" because that's not the emotion they feel. They usually have no… Continue
