Am I the Only Single and Looking 30 Something Lesbian on the Nexus?

I came to Atheist Nexus for friends and community with fellow freethinkers. I have found some of the warmest, kindest, most understanding people here. They are like an internet family I sit with each night, and sometimes during the day while I work from home, and I could not be happier to have found them. However, something is missing.

I took three years off dating to get a degree, find myself, figure out what I want in a relationship. I've done that now, and I plan to leave the bible…

“Find God’s Match for You!” ™

“I like the silent church, before the service begins, better than any preacher.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Those who love God are not always friends of their fellow-men.’

Robert Ingersoll

I am really glad I’m not a lawyer for ChristianMingle.com.  How do I even know they have lawyers?  Every company does, especially one that makes as bold a claim as this: “Find God’s Match for You”(TM).

They’ve even…

i need an intelligent non-theist girlfriend

Somehow i keep getting myself involved with theists that eventually ends in ruin...bleh. where are all the intelligent females that i'd love to surround myself with? haha.

this blog may seem shallow as hell, but ending relationships that don't work out due to differing opinions about what non-sense is bums me out.

Musings On "Meant To Be" And Me

I take issue with the bandying about of the phrase, “meant to be.” When most people hear it, they let it sink into their brain as if it must be an absolute truth. It clearly has ties to religious thinking, and yet, like the concept of “soul mates”, it seems to have gained a new place in peoples' minds. I know people who believe in god but don't believe in “meant to be.” I know people who believe in “meant to be” but not god. I know people who believe in both, and of course, people like myself… Continue

Dating And The Musing Atheist

Disclaimer: This in no way represents how I believe all non-theists should feel, just how I feel. Also note that this post contains explicit language.

For as long as I have considered myself one, I have never shied away from the term "atheist" in public. My beliefs (or lack thereof, if you want to refer to them that way) are very important to me, and why I believe what I do is of even greater importance. I do a lot of reading and exploring in order to more fully understand what I… Continue

Deborah Cooper podcast

I did an internet radio/podcast with Deborah Cooper of Sucka Free Dating this week. It was unusual and fun to say the least. You can listen at this link:

The angle was very different than other podcasts I have done since it was more focused on how religion affects relationships and sexuality.

YASNS WTF OK fine

Yet another Social Networking Site - Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! "You really should join!"

OK fine.

So anyway, I went ahead and joined AtheistNexus. I have too many theistic friends and family on Facebook; I was having to go back to MySpace to really speak my mind, but mostly as a lone voice crying in the wilderness. I've been slightly more assertive on Facebook of late, but it is never far from my mind that one of my longtime High School friends is an Episcopal priest, while two… Continue

Love stretching cultural borders

I think most people would agree that love is a strange thing. When you are in love, you loose all logic and reason. The newest way to fall in love is internet dating, which has become immensely popular during the past years. However, internet dating aside, the MMO community has recently caused a lot of weddings to be held all over the world, made people marry each other despite cultural differences, language barriers and huge distances keeping the lovers apart. It has also maybe quite… Continue
