When I was a kid I thought our galaxy was a tiny little molecule on a green giant's thumb. I was sure of it! I have nooo idea how I came up with this idea but it's pretty funny looking back at it now. That is just as likely as there being a higher power!

I have heard it said that the Human Race is living at the bottom of an ocean of germs, Continue
bacteria and virus's. The only thing that has allowed us to survive to today is because
our ancient ancestors had evolved an immune system that has the ability to fight off the
majority of these diseases.
But, if the Human Race does not allow the immune system to do its job, we will slowly
lose it and become dependant upon medicine. That is not good.
To retain a good…

My wife and I both work and we have a two year old kid. This takes up a lot of my time so lots can happen in this world of ours without my noticing it. Like natural disasters, revolutions, whole continents disappearing into the sea and Bill 13, which is making its way through the legislature in… Continue

What a year I've had!
After having dealt with my wife becoming Catholic (with my blessing) and currently taking part in a community theater production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
, my children (ages 8,5, and 11 mo) were baptized into the Roman Catholic Church.
My wife realizes how difficult this is for me. After all, she is one of a handful… Continue

Today I had the grave misfortune of encountering on Hemant Mehta's Friendly Atheist
blog a video of a very small, rather unformed human being with not much grasp of her language or the subject matter to which she applies it babbling… Continue

When my son came home a few days ago and announced, "Charlie's* an atheist like me!", I felt my chest tighten. After a deep breath, we had a short discussion about personal beliefs and why some people might get upset with him if their beliefs are different from his and then I reminded him that he is still learning and suggested he might want to hold off… Continue

Hi, I’m Mark, I am 24 years old, I was born an Atheist like everyone else, but early on in childhood I was introduced to Christianity. I was never baptized or ‘saved’ as they so arrogantly state.
As far back as I can remember my Mother always went to church,…

Unfortunately, not alive. I'm completely outraged over this murder and the mother involved...and with Nancy Grace for telling this 'mother' "all of America is behind you". Well, no I'm not. I feel terrible for the little boy and the agonizing death he must have… Continue

It's cowardly I know, then again most people are cowards about most things. I will never come out as an Athiest. My two sons are scouts, my daughters best friend is a fundamentalist, and my boss is an Evangelical. Scouts have to believe in god as well as be heterosexual. My daughters friend would not be allowed to play with her if it was known that we are athiest. My boss would hound me mercilessly if he found out I didn't believe, first in an attempt to save me, and later in anger when I… Continue

Clips this week come from the BBC comedy "Outnumbered," in which awkward questions are asked by children, and adults fail.
Hopefully, I will be off-planet in a couple of days. So if you don't see me next week--you'll be too busy escaping the horror that awaits. Otherwise, I'll be podcasting from the saucers after I've had my fill of alien ecstasy. Praise… Continue

A concerned prospective father sent me a message asking,
"I'd like to learn something as a good father from you. Considering that you're an atheist, how can teach your children how to behave in good manner and ethic. Because when I was a kid, my parents used to tell me "Be good boy and tidy your room then God will bless you...etc." I don't want to say these words to my children as a prospective father. And i wonder what do you… Continue

This week it came to light that the Boy Scouts of America have kept “Perversion Files”; thousands of files that outlined sexual abuse in the BSA and how they systematically covered it up. As the BSA propagated acts of prejudice against nearly a quarter of the country’s population by banning… Continue

Here a question I get frequently. This one from Andrew, an atheist involved with a Catholic girl. I don't claim that I have THE answer to his concern, but thought I would share this with the community for more discussion:
I wrote you last week and told you how fascinated I was with your
book, considering I was only half way through it. Well I just finished
it yesterday, and I have to tell you again, it was fantastic. I'm going
to post my… Continue

I was bored watching South Park, an epi where Cartman fake's Tourette's Syndrome so he can say any bad word he wants. The host of "To Catch a Predator" (Chris Hansen) is interviewing him. Kyle knows he is faking, so he lures pedophiles to the studio, where they see Chris Hansen and kill themselves. I heard this actually happened, so I went on youtube to see if it did.… Continue

Why are there so many Catholic priests who molest little children, especially boys, all around the world?
I'll start a list:
1. Their religion forbids them to marry or engage in sexual activity. They are to be celibate for life, or risk losing their careers and livelihood and dignity. Is this not already a sick act? It is unnatural and inhuman to forbid someone from EVER engaging in any sexual activity for fear of burning forever in hell.… Continue
