Why I Can't Support American Atheists

As much as I like Dave Silverman, more and more he rubs me the wrong way, and it seems like most of the atheists who do the most rubbing me of the wrong way are affiliated with American Atheists. It seems like they're trying to undo all the work me and many others are trying to do by framing atheism as it's own religion. Whenever I see a Madalyn Murray O'Hair, Michael Newdow, or even Dave Silverman quote, most of the time it makes me facepalm, because most of the time they're reflecting some… Continue

PSYOP DOT CONNE©TIONs: Don't ya hate on wasting time over talking about what a dummy with money is screwing up?

Look at it this way; type in "palin email christian faith" on goog news and notice a... anyhow

look at the über white guy (and 'black? REALLY? tea party types) named ________ trying to grip the USA into hitler throwback palm

American Atheist Convention and Easter Scheduling

http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/04/03/easter.atheists/index.html?hpt=T2

While Easter Sunday is nearly to be celebrated (early in the day, no doubt) by Christians across the world, on this same weekend, the American Atheists are meeting in their 36th convention. This year’s goal in particular is to note that while there are still widespread stereotypes about atheism (one of them especially mistaken, since… Continue

If the Bible Was True: A Case *for* Fundamentalism

I was raised pretty damn fundamentalist. In fact, we looked at churches like Saddleback and thought "Pff! They aren't TRUE believers." Frankly, we didn't have much respect for people who didn't take their faith seriously enough to entertain the notion of drinking a little poison now and again or handling venomous snakes. I mean, come ON - the Bible says if you really have faith you can do it and not be harmed!

Actually Christians and atheists all seem to agree on one thing: My… Continue

Post- American Atheists Convention 2009

One of the things that Dawkins spoke about at the convention (for those who weren't able to go) was the interview he had with Ben Stein and how he took what he said to falsely prove his point and hold it against him. A very small part of the interview appeared on Glenn Beck. Whether or not Glenn Beck knew about the true contents of the interview, Glenn Beck was still critical of atheists on his show and pretty much made fun of Dawkins.

My dad is a very avid listener of Glenn Beck and… Continue

American Atheist Convention 2009 - Atlanta

Unfortunately there wasn't free internet access in Emory Hotel so I couldn't make any updates while I was at the Emory Hotel. So here it goes!

Day 1 (Friday):

We (my dad, my sister Vanessa, and myself) left super early that morning. I had a hard time getting to sleep that night because I was so excited so I was pretty tired when I got up at 7am (doesn't help that I went to bed around 3am either). When we got to the convention center at the Emory Hotel I thought it was very… Continue

In Augusta now...Atlanta in the morning!

The drive to Augusta started smoothly until we (me and my sister) hit an hour long traffic jam involving a smashed up semi-truck and other vehical that wasn't even recognizable considering it's doors and other car parts were flung all across the highway. I really hope no one was hurt.

After we made it past the accident it was smooth sailing from there. FIRST LONG DISTANCE TRIP ON MY OWN COMPLETED! YAY! I'm very proud of myself but I also gotta thank my GPS. I very much enjoyed… Continue

I'm getting so irritated (understated)

The atrocity going on in the Gaza Strip is a prime example of the poison of religion. The death toll is now over 600 including civilians. This is all because of a disagreement of religion. They want this 'sacred' plot of land. We're talking about the massacre of children in a UN school and blatant disregard for 'collateral damage'. People are losing their homes, families and lives over this trivial medieval idea of god. I know its asking a lot but it would be nice for these blind, brainless… Continue
