Intro, and a Fundie explains Evolution

OK, this is my first post, but it's 1am and I'm a little tired. Need to be quick, as I'm not supposed to have PC access right now....

My family currently requires me to go to church with them twice a week: once on Sunday morning, and once on either Sunday or Wednesday night. That often interferes with my work schedule, but they don't care. They'll just kick me out of the house if I refuse (not joking, sadly).

Tonight I sat through an hour of the youth pastor explaining the… Continue

To Clarify My Position

I had a discussion with a friend the other day about religion - surprise, eh? - and in the wake of that I should probably briefly clarify my views.

I would love religion to vanish, but that's not a reasonable thing to want or strive for. I really don't mind religion as long as it doesn't affect the outside world. My main issue, which I think a few people have misunderstood (probably because I ramble and rant) is that religion isn't open to question and criticism, seemingly because… Continue

Keep It Inside Your Head Or Your Head Is Forfeit (Bitch)

Further to my note of a few days ago, about the Sikh girl who managed to get her personal delusions championed over mere secular beliefs.

It occurs to me that the position religion occupies within the British judicial system – or seeks to occupy, with a great deal of success – is similar to the position it seeks to occupy in science. Fundamentalist religion challenges a varied range of scientific theories, but the alternative hypotheses supplied often function as refutations of… Continue

Religion: Removes 100% Of All Known Consequences

This just in: the world is stupid. Again.

A Sikh girl, attending a school with a no jewellery policy, was excluded for wearing a religious bracelet. The report on this, which was dripping with shots of the girl staring bleakly through windows, detailed how she was winning support and legal advice on the issue.

To me, it seems reasonably simple. No jewellery. Religious jewellery is still just jewellery, worn for entirely personal reasons. See my rant on Secular\Non Secular… Continue

Why Are Religious And Secular Fashions Different?

I’ve been thinking about some stuff recently. It’s sort of interesting, but hardly very original. Stick around, though – this will likely anger or confuse you.

I work in Vodafone now, which as you may know is a nest of fouls. My job so far has required me to stand at the door and apprehend all comers for the purposes of selling them a Nokia N95. This means I see a lot of people per day. Some of them are hilarious. Here’s some examples:

The utterly punked-up guy who had… Continue

Top fundamentalist\creationist Christian responses to science, intellectualism, reason and empirical evidence. These are only common responses that have arisen within the short time I’ve really started using the internet to rape fundamentalists; there are, of course, countless other hilarious things that come up in conversation, and countless other hilarious proofs against God. This is a very small starting point, but it amused me.
