Had a fun interview with The Imaginary Friends podcast out of Australia. Podcast is up. I'll be visiting Jake (of the podcast) when I go to Brisbane, Australia after speaking in Sydney next month.

When it comes to morals, it seems that Christian eyesight never rises above the belt-buckle unless it is to peer behind a brassiere. Genes for sexual obsession passed down by the Catholic Church… Continue

“The acceptability of birth control has always depended on a morality that separates sex from reproduction. In the nineteenth century, when the birth control movement began, such a separation was widely considered immoral. The eventual widespread public acceptance of birth control required a major reorientation of sexual values”—Linda Gordon, The Moral Property of Women
Contraception should not be a difficult subject to approach, but obviously, religion blinds… Continue

I have loved Laci Green's Bblog for a couple of years now. She is an amazing voice for sex and reason. Today she put up an accurate and insightful review of our sex research.

Amanda and I are working hard to get the survey results ready for release. Hope to have something out in May if not sooner. The data is almost overwhelming and the information coming out of it is very interesting. It tells us a lot, especially how different people are when they leave religion.
I'll be talking a couple of times in May on the results.

Just saw an article in the UNLV campus newspaper on my Sex and Religion talk. The reporter did a good job summarizing it.

We are doing a groundbreaking survey on sex and secularism. We will collect data for a month or so, then shut it down and analyze it. Depending on what we find, we may publish it in a journal but it will definitely be used in my next book in some capacity. Here is the link:http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PGHSWMW
Take it yourself then let others know about it.

Just back from Lincoln, NE where I gave the first talk on my new lecture, "Religion as a Sexually Transmitted Disease". Seemed to go over well and create a little controversy. I hope to give the talk in several places over the next year. I think sex is the weakest point in any of the major religions. Attacking religions at their weakest spot, undermines their effectiveness. If you or your group are interested in this talk, let me know.

There are still many people in the world who for religious or superstitious reasons maintain what we may call "strict sexual morals", and who consider "sinful" many practices to which they attach a label of "perversion". This idea still predominated with a spurious scientific appearance until the 70's of the past century, and it was so much so that commonly accepted sexual practices coincided almost perfectly with old religious commandments.
Things have changed in most advanced… Continue

More reason to eliminate Religion
"I will do it again"
was the comment of Lord Our Righteousness Church's leader Wayne Bent.
The self-proclaim Messiah Wayne Bent is accused of and being tried for sex crimes against two of his teenage followers.
However, he "insists that he did nothing wrong by lying naked with the teenage girls, and that it's common for him to kiss and embrace any member of his group."
All the members of this Christian cult need to… Continue
