SERIOUS QUESTION: "Could Science Make Use Of Our Naturally Produced Chemicals To Better Our Planet?"

Well I'd like to state first off that I am NOT superman and am NOT trying to lie about any of this. What would I gain from any of it anyways? However, a recent Blog/Forum post got me thinking and I guess I should share this with you all *at least* because... well, I don't think anyone has seriously thought about this yet. I've kept this little talent of mine to myself ever since I learned I had it because I felt weird and personally thought it was stupid. However, after a… Continue

Teaching Creation and Intelligent Design as Science

I am so tired of hearing people argue that creation and intelligent design should be taught in science classes alongside evolution. This would be a devastating move. First off, America is already fallen so far behind the rest of the world in terms of science education. Now that we are starting to make some improvements in this sector the religious idiots want to teach creation and intelligent design as science. There is no evidence for the existence of god or creation. The same must be applied… Continue

Darwin the Abolitionist

Darwin the Abolitionist

Listen to the interview here, or read it below.

GELLERMAN: This month we commemorate the 200th birthday of British naturalist; Charles Darwin. It's said, Darwin came up with "the single best idea anyone ever had". He published it in 1859 in his book: On the Origin of Species. Darwin's unexpectedly popular and… Continue

A very interesting subject. Arrogance seems to be a underlying aspect of scientific explanations to those who are faith based thinkers. They seem to immediately perceive science reasoning as an attack. They may infer you are questioning that they are less intelligent in some way to gravitate to faith instead of science for an explanation of the natural world?

I have a lot of questions and so few answers.… Continue

Unfair Criticism of PZ Myers and other Secular Scientists

On July 31, 2008 Salon.com posted an articled titled: What's wrong with science as religion, by Karl Giberson. Giberson, who has a PhD in physics and is the author of “Saving Darwin: How to be a Christian and believe in Evolution” was responding to a July 24th web posting by PZ Meyers on Meyers’ blog Pharyngula. (http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/) In the web posting Meyers stuck a rusty nail in a communion cracker, and then used the nail to impale pages of the Qur’an and Richard Dawkin’s “The… Continue

Science Trumps Religion RE: AIDS Immigration Law

Last week the US congress finally managed to reverse a law prohibiting anyone with the AIDS/HIV virus from visiting or immigrating to the US. The Law was established in 1987 and codified into law in 1993, when conservative ideology labeled AIDS the "gay" plague despite scientific and medical information suggesting the illness was much more widely spread

The illness was used in conservative pulpits in America to preach hate against gay men, but the Catholic Church responded to the… Continue
