A simple question

Hello everybody, this is my first blog post here

A few days ago I decided to read my religion's book, the Quran, as to become a more enlightened atheist, and also because people here believe in Jen and witchcraft so much I began to question myself.

and every time I call bullshit, someone tells me but it's in the Quran!!

I'm really bothered by loads upon loads of threats of going to hell if you didn't follow that or this, I mean maybe if we eliminated the threats the Quran…

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper says "Islamicism biggest threat to Canada" & Tony Blair says "Iran is our Real Enemy"

It is refreshing to see that our northern border ally has too come to see the true threat facing humanity in the 21st century. It is also refreshing to see the visionary and bold former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom taking a clear stance against the illegal regime of the Islamic Republic - especially since he has strong influence with the Quartet - I am feeling more and more confident that the international community will soon stand more firmly with the Syrian people…

TERRORIST ATTACK IN NORWAY!!

Fortunately it seems as if no one has been killed...but I wonder who committed the bombing? Why does one suspect it as retaliation for the Muhammad cartoons? So much with "peace and tolerance"

Edit: it seems as if at least one person has been killed with scores injured.

Norway: Blast near prime minister's office in Oslo…

Equal Opportunity Burning

Some random thoughts. Would it be too much to encourage the Muslim world

to burn a few bibles just to even the score over the Quran burning in

Florida? It might help settle this whole thing down. Maybe in the

spirit of Jonathan Swifts' "A Modest Proposal," a mass Bible and Quran

burning next to the Washington Monument, might bring us all together.

On second thought, if every Bible and Quran in the world were burned

this week, it would probably totally tip the… Continue

Errors OF Quran

----------------- FLAWS IN QURAN ---------

"Beat Them"

This verse advises men to beat their wives if they dont obey them:

"Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they

spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient,

guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose

part you fear desertion,…

Ban the Bible and the Quran

The law states that any material that "incites violence or hatred" is ignoring the responsibilities of liberty/free speech and therefore should be banned. Unless it is religious. Then, of course, it is exempt from that law.

Think about this.

On the one hand, an individual could produce a leaflet that incites violence or hatred; only a few hundred people may get to see it, most of whom will dismiss it out of hand. The law argues that if there is a risk…

Informed is Forewarned: Read the Quran.

I’m almost half-way through my second reading of the Quran and find myself wondering what it would take to make Westerners understand Islamic ideology. I could explain how Islam is a religious, legal and political framework for life . . . but others have already written books about that. So I decided I’ll just frame the problem of Islam as briefly as I can and let the reader consult the Quran if they doubt me. If this leads to just one person reading the Quran, then I’ve accomplished… Continue

Why Religion and God are Unnecessary in the Modern World

I was originally going to publish this at Associated Content but they don't give up front payments for opinion articles so I published it there under a non-exclusive license and will publish it else where including my blog.

Introduction

Beliefs in gods is as old as civilization as is religion. But is the belief in god(s) and religion necessary? Does it benefit society or does it harm society? It is my belief that a belief in god(s)… Continue

From Ali Sina: The Problem is Islam, not Muslims

I just ran across this essay from the eminent ex-Muslim, Ali Sina: the founder of FaithFreedom International. It expresses my own feelings on the subject better than I could. Note: I edited the essay for grammatical errors (Ali Sina is an Iranian and English is his second language).

The Problem is Islam, not Muslims
