Enough Election Shit!

Every commercial break an ad for some asshole candidate comes on. Every fucking commercial break. There is nothing positive in these commercials. They are nothing but quote mining, lies of omission, perversions of facts, straight lies and calling the other candidates "liberal" (as if anyone in this fucking state know what liberal means). I'm sick and tired of hearing about it. None of these idiots know what the fuck they are doing. No, that not true, they know what they are doing they are… Continue

Christine O’Donnell: Dear God, Change Your Mind

During her short time on the political stage, Christine O’Donnell has generated such incredible buffoonery she could start an “All Christine, All the Time”…

Rant: Anarchists

Anarchy

I was looking at the comments of a video on Youtube and I come across an anarchist with the typical anarchists argument meaningless rhetoric about taxes: "its extortion" and "its theft".

The stupid! It burns! These anarchists will call taxes theft and whine and wangst about the problems in our… Continue

If He Walks Like a Muslim and Talks Like a Muslim…

HEATHEN! - I'm not saying he's a Muslim, but he sure looks to be a born one to me.

There's nothing surprising about recent poll numbers indicating more people are "confused" about The Messiah's™ true religion than… Continue

"Atheist Schools of Thought" - from Atheist Climber Blog

From Atheist Climber Blog

Writing this blog has been a huge learning experience for me. I've had a large amount of comments, on some threads particularly, which have ranged from enlightened thought through to downright insanity, but each has helped me formulate just where I stand in relation to religion, humanity and the universe. One thing has become clear to me when discussing issues with… Continue

"It's OK, it's part of my religion" from Atheist Climber blog

I published this piece at my blog and thought you all might appreciate it.

As you may know, my universe has no room for the possibility of a god. And in general I don't care what other people think and believe as long as their suppositions and practices don't affect me in any way. You can believe in fairies and unicorns and believe you have to bay at the moon 2 times a night to stop from… Continue

"Just One Fix" from Atheist Climber blog

Via Atheist Climber Blog

Religion really is an oddity in humanity. When citing religion, one can be excused for irrational behaviour or beliefs. It gives people an excuse to not take part in the cultural norms of the society they live in. It allows people rights and privileges that people not of that religion are denied. It regularly excuses wrongdoing and lawbreaking if these are done "in the name of God". It… Continue

Why Religion and God are Unnecessary in the Modern World

I was originally going to publish this at Associated Content but they don't give up front payments for opinion articles so I published it there under a non-exclusive license and will publish it else where including my blog.

Introduction

Beliefs in gods is as old as civilization as is religion. But is the belief in god(s) and religion necessary? Does it benefit society or does it harm society? It is my belief that a belief in god(s)… Continue

Chaplaincy in Australia's State Schools...

In an emotional display, Kevin Rudd PM told the story of a couple that he knew personally, who died tragically whilst doing a good deed, to the Australian Christian Lobby’s annual conference in Canberra. Allan Taylor, the husband, was a school chaplain. Rudd intends to give $42.8mil in funding to the National School Chaplaincy program which was due to end late 2010.

Rudd used personal testimonies of Taylor, by friends, students, teachers, and colleagues as evidence of the importance… Continue

What's going on, America?

What's going on, America?

Please note, I did not write this - quoted from elsewhere. There is so much in this writing with which I can personally identify, it's scary.

"I grew up in a family of moderate Republicans- more George HW Bushes than George W Bushes, you know? This exposed me, as a child, to ridiculous nonsense, much of which can be seen in the political email… Continue

Would John Oxendine represent all Georgians?

John Oxendine is a Republican candidate for the Governor of Georgia. In this blog post, I raise serious questions about just who the Ox would represent were he elected.

Editorials worldwide pillory Bush one final time

Finger Salute to Bush.org

Just wanted to share this:

Finger Salute to Bush.org

Having endured eight long years of misguided leadership on the part of the Bush Administration, it is with great regret and well-bridled enthusiasm that we orchestrate PEACEFUL CIVIL DISRESPECT, in the form of raised middle fingers, on a worldwide massive scale as common citizen George W. Bush ascends by helicopter from the White House on his return to… Continue

President George W. Bush

W said in an interview that the Bible is "probably not" literally true.

I'm not surprised, but I find it hilarious the religious right were "stunned" LOL
Anyone with a thinking brain knows the Republicans used them to gain power, but did little for them once they took over. Silly people

Are Republicans Haunted by these Numbers?

Pundits & politicians make predictions by watching voter trends. Despite a bit of pre-election uncertainty about the Presidential race, they accurately foretold the Republican losses in the House & Senate, primarily because they could tell that the electoral wind was to the backs of the Democrats. "Them Dems" may not have captured every seat up for grabs, but Congress took on a… Continue

Heaven, The Ultimate Welfare State

More reason to get rid of religion:

I have always been amazed listening to right wing's conservative Christians accusing people ,like Barack Obama, for example, who have pledged their life into helping better the lives of economic stricken working people as socialist and communist. Yet, these same right wing's conservative Christians put their faith and hopes in going to a place that is undeniable the ultimate welfare state ,called heaven, controlled by a communist… Continue

Do you support 'traditional' marriage, vot now ad

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:28pm 0 Comments

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"!  .

No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes.  'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands.  Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

i've got no problem with everyone saying "merry christmas" on christmas day.  however, they've turned it into an entire holiday season where it lasts a month or more.  in those situations it should be perfectly acceptable to say "happy holidays" or call it a…

My first funeral as an atheist

Posted by Two Cult Survivor on May 21, 2013 at 11:30am 0 Comments

I posted the bulk of this on another thread, but wanted to add some context separately.

I finally confronted my faith and embraced the fact of my atheism late last August, 2012. Days after I revealed my "epiphany" to a few friends who knew me from another message board, my sister died from Lou Gehrig's Disease (which pissed her off because she hated catching a disease from someone she never f---ed).

THAT was my sister, understand? She was a beautiful, life-loving, potty-mouthed…

Death of a family member

Posted by Larry Taylor on May 20, 2013 at 8:15pm 12 Comments

OK. I am venting. My mother died two weeks ago. She was a “god fearing christian.” Before her death she refused all medical treatment. She wanted to be left alone. She even refused to speak with my brother who is a methodist minister. He is a pip, let me tell you! I suspect she did not believe, but a woman born in her time could not and did not state her actual beliefs. This is the opening salvo to all christians; FUCK YOU! I had so many people come and tell…
