Rand's "Epistemological Argument"

Preface: The following essay was written in 1998, for the IOS discussion list. More recently I have had an exchange of views on an Objectivist site called "Noodlefood" where they (1) claimed that I had totally misunderstood Rand's argument (2) refused to present her argument, saying only that the choice of whether to live or die was **FUNDAMENTAL**, and that I should go back and do my homework. "Ought". Where I part ways with Objectivism.

August 16, 1998. First post to IOS discussion list. All "oughts" are
hypothetical.


Greetings-
I do not call myself an Objectivist (large "O"), because I differ on
a number of significant points. Rather, I call myself a Secular
Humanist, and at times a Freethinker. These are broader terms,
referring to larger sets, than Objectivist. All Objectivists qualify
as Secular Humanists, and all Humanists…
